The Baltimore Ravens know they have arguably the greatest kicker in the history of the league on their roster. And they don’t intend to let that change anytime soon.

On Monday, the Ravens announced that they have agreed to a four-year extension with their star kicker Justin Tucker. The 32-year-old player is now under contract with Baltimore through the 2027 NFL season.

“It means the world to me to continue my career here in Baltimore,” said Tucker after the news became official. “It’s truly special to know I’ll be accounted for, for the next six seasons.”

The Ravens didn’t disclose the financial terms of the deal, but Tucker reportedly remains the highest-paid kicker in NFL. The extension is worth $24 million, which translates to a $6 million annual salary. This is $1 million more than the next guy on the list.

Justin Tucker has been an epitome of consistency since entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of Texas in 2012. He converted 326 field goals out of 358 attempted, with his 91.1 percent conversion being the league record. He also holds the NFL’s record for the longest field goal ever made at 66 yards.

Tucker has made five Pro Bowls and received five First-team All-Pro honors during his career. He also has a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens after helping the franchise win Super Bowl XLVII.

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker continues to etch his name into NFL history books. Besides being the most accurate kicker in league history, Tucker now also owns the NFL’s record for the longest field goal.

Tucker set the record on Sunday, making a 66-yarder in the dying seconds of the Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions. His kick sealed the game for the Ravens, who ended up winning 19-17.

There was also drama during the kick as the ball hit the crossbar before bouncing between the uprights.

The previous record-holder was Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowler Matt Prater. Playing for the Denver Broncos in 2013, Prater scored a 64-yard field goal in a 51–28 win against the Tennessee Titans.

Sunday’s game wasn’t the first time that Justin Tucker impressed against the Lions on Ford Field. During the 2013 NFL season, Tucker scored a 61-yarder that gave the Ravens an 18-16 win over Detroit. This was also his previous best.

Tucker is 7 of 7 on extra points and 7 of 8 on field goals. He owns an NFL-high 90.7 percent conversion throughout his career.

“He’s the best kicker in history,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of Tucker after the game. “When you have a kicker like that, you want to give him an opportunity like that. For him to come through like that is just historic.”

The NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team has been officially revealed on Monday, and it is hard to say there are any surprises.

The offense is led by quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, wide receivers Antonio Brown and Larry Fitzgerald, and running backs Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson among others. Brady, Peterson, tackle Joe Thomas, and guard Marshal Yanda have been selected as unanimous picks.

Defense, on the other hand, is highlighted by defensive end J.J. Watt, defensive tackle Aaron Donald, linebacker Von Miller, and cornerbacks Patrick Peterson and Richard Sherman. Watt, Donald, and Miller were unanimous picks on the defensive end.

Among the special team selections were kicker Justin Tucker, who was the unanimous pick, punter Johnny Hekker, kick returner Devin Hester, and punt returner Darren Sproles. Sproles also became the fourth player in NFL history to be named in the All-Decade Team on multiple positions, as he was also selected as an offensive flex player on the offense.

New England Patriots’ Bill Belichick and Seattle Seahawks’ Pete Carroll were selected as NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team coaches.

NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team was chosen by the 48-member Hall of Fame selection committee. The eligible players were those that made it to the All-Pro team, Pro Bowl team, or Pro Football Writers of America all-conference squad in the past decade.

Patriots are the most represented team on the list, with eight players playing for the organization at some point in their career. They are trailed by Kansas City Chiefs with six selections and Seahawks with five selections.

There is less than a half minute remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter, and the Baltimore Ravens have just scored a touchdown for 23-24 in Sunday’s game against New Orleans Saints. Ravens’ kicker Justin Tucker is stepping onto the field, ready to score the extra point (PAT) and get the game to overtime. There is a snap, he confidently kicks the ball …. and it goes wide right. Ravens lost the game and Tucker has just missed the first PAT since he broke into the league in 2012.

That’s right. Tucker, who is currently the most accurate NFL kicker of all time, made 222 extra point attempts before missing the one against the Saints. This miss carries even more weight when you consider that the 28-year-old was also perfect in college, which means that before Sunday, he made 316 extra consecutive extra points.

I feel like I cost us the game,” – said Tucker after the game. “Every single one of my teammates thus far has told me the opposite, and no one play wins or loses a game. But that’s a tough thing to grapple with when you’re the guy in that situation at the end of the game.

You play long enough, you’re going to have a kick that you want back, and tonight was that night for me,” –he added.

While Ravens dropped to a 4-3 record thanks to Tucker’s miss, his teammates won’t hold it against him.

Justin’s the best in the world at what he does, and he’s the most confident person that I know. It’s not going to be an issue.” – said Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

After going undrafted in 2012 NFL Draft, Justin Tucker was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. During his career, he was named to Pro Bowl on two occasions while also receiving two First-Team All-Pro honors. During his NFL career, Tucker made 89.9 percent of his field goals (214 out of 238).
