Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he will step down from his role at the club at the end of the current season. Explaining that he feels that he is “running out of energy”, the German manager said he will not manage another club or country for at least a year.

“I can understand that it’s a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it, or at least try to explain it,” Klopp explained in a video message. “It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”

Klopp explained that he loves “absolutely everything about this club [Liverpool]” and that he will not manage another English club in the future, thereby rebutting rumors that he may return to the Premier League at some point.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has warned his team’s Premier League rivals that the Reds are looking to ignite a comeback as England’s top flight resumes following the international World Cup break. Currently sixth in the Premier League table, Klopp believed that his team showed character during their narrow 3-2 loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.

“There is a lot to come, we don’t think about the break anymore. It’s a start for something new and building on the things we’ve done so far and knowing and expecting that we can do better — starting on Boxing Day,” Klopp announced.

While Klopp remains unconvinced by his team’s counter-press, he did feel like there were many signs of improvement that the team showed when compared to the slump that they hit during the first half of the season. He acknowledged, however, that it would be difficult for his players who had recently returned from the World Cup to cope with the packed schedule that lay ahead, especially given the short break between the international break and returns to the club season.

The Reds are set to face Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday night.

Liverpool forward Robert Firmino has suffered a serious hamstring injury, the club announced via a public statement on Friday. The injury occurred on Wednesday, with Firminho limping off the field during the Reds’ 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

According to manager Jurgen Klopp, the Brazilian attacker will most likely be unavailable through December. This news comes as Firminho was due to represent Brazil during their world cup qualifiers against Columbia and Argentine next week.

“Losing Bobby Firmino is a blow,” Klopp admitted during a news conference. The German manager further explained that while this serious injury looks like it will take more than four weeks to overcome, he remains optimistic as he believes Firminho to be a quick healer.

As a result of his injury, Firminho has been replaced by Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior in the Brazilian squad for the upcoming games.

Unable to appear in Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League fixture against West Ham United this weekend, Firminho is just of multiple injury concerns harbored by Liverpool. Currently, the Reds’ injured players include Curtis Jones, James Milner, Joe Gomez and Naby Keita.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revisited his previous complaints against Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regarding the number of penalties that they have received in the Premier League. This comes as Liverpool is set to pay Manchester United a visit during their Premier League clash on Sunday.

Over the last Premier League season, Manchester United was awarded 11 penalty kicks in comparison to Liverpool’s six. This season, however, both teams are level with just one spot-kick apiece.

Still, Klopp reiterated his belief that the Red Devils were awarded a disproportionate amount of penalties while speaking at a press conference on Friday.

“They are really good, they go in the box, they have these kinds of situations. But we have them as well and got not even a similar amount of penalties. But it’s facts, it’s done. Nothing else to say about it,” an angered Klopp stated.

The Liverpool manager first ignited his penalty row against Man Utd last January, when the referee refused to award what Klopp believed to be a clear penalty during a loss to Southampton. This was the moment that he infamously claimed that Man Utd “had more penalties in two years than I had in five-and-a-half years.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is one of the top coaches in the world of sports, judging by his recent track record. The German coach has now won a Premier League title and a Champions League crown with the Reds over the past two seasons, and he recently signed a contract extension that will keep him in town through 2024.

However, according to a recent interview with German newspaper Bild, Klopp doesn’t have any plans to stick around in Liverpool after his current contract runs out.

This would mean that the German manager would have four seasons left at Liverpool, after which he would step down and re-evaluate his options for the future.

Klopp has publicly stated that his plan is to take a year off from soccer when he leaves the Liverpool job. Speculation has run rampant that he could choose to coach the German national team after his one-year hiatus.

While no one has a crystal ball, if the manager’s recent words come true, he certainly won’t be sticking around in England past 2024. What happens next is up to him, and will come after a year away from the game.

For now, Klopp will look to add to his already-impressive trophy case with Liverpool and continue working hard to make his club’s fans’ dreams come true.

Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk recently admitted that he had offers from several Premier League top clubs, including Manchester City and Chelsea, while playing with Southampton. According to Van Dijk, he decided to reject them in favor of Liverpool due to the club’s manager Jurgen Klopp.

Back in 2017, Van Dijk was one of the most sought-after players in soccer after several successful seasons with Southampton. After months of speculations, he ended up at Anfield, becoming the most expensive defender in history at the time with a price tag of around $80 million.

“I had the chance to go to Chelsea and Man City,” said Van Dijk. “When you compare the clubs, you look at the history, the town, the current squad, their plans for the near future. But the most important thing you look at is the manager—and Jurgen Klopp is an important reason why I chose for Liverpool.”

Van Dijk added that Klopp’s energy and man-management are what sets him apart from other managers.

“Klopp gives you this great feeling. He is genuinely happy when you walk into the club in the morning. It may sound daft, but that really inspires you as a player,” he explained.

It is safe to say that Virgil Van Dijk made the right choice. Under Klopp, Van Dijk established himself as one of the best, if not the best, center backs in the game. He also managed to help the club get several trophies, including UEFA Champions League trophy last year and Premier League title this season.

After leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2015, Jurgen Klopp took only a few months break before becoming the manager of Liverpool. Next time when he becomes unemployed, however, Klopp plans to take a different approach.

In a recent chat with Germany’s Kicker magazine, Klopp said that he would take a long break when his time with Liverpool comes to an end.

“If I decide for myself that I can’t go on anymore, I’ll take a break, and in that year I’d have to make a definite decision [if he wants to continue at all].” – Klopp told Kicker. “I have absolute energy, but I have one problem: I can’t to ‘a little bit.’ I can only do ‘all or nothing.'”

“But the chances are very high that my energy levels will go up again [after a year’s break], and that I can then do the job the way I want to,” – he added.

Klopp’s contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2022, and this is when the 52-year-old might decide to take the discussed break. This possibility isn’t anything new, as ESPN reported back in June that the German manager is considering this scenario.

Since joining Liverpool in 2015, Jurgen Klopp managed to reestablish the club as one of the best in Europe. Last season was the club’s best under Klopp, as Liverpool won the Champions League and finished second in Premier League standings.

After leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2015, Jurgen Klopp took only a few months break before becoming the manager of Liverpool. Next time when he becomes unemployed, however, Klopp plans to take a different approach.
