Greuther Fürth winger Julian Green is hoping that he’ll get to wear USMNT jersey once again. In a recent chat with Yahoo Sports, Green said that his biggest goal is to be part of United States men’s national team selection once again.

Green received his last call-up during the Dave Sarachan’s regime, playing in the 3-0 friendly loss against England in 2018. However, since Gregg Berhalter took over the team, the 25-year-old was overlooked.

Still, Green, who became the youngest player in U.S. history to score in the World Cup in 2014, continues to believe that he can catch Berhalter’s attention and play for his country again.

“I’m a better player than I was six years ago in the World Cup,” said Green. “I hope I get my chance to show the coach what I can do, that I can help the team. That’s my biggest goal.”

While he was a member of German powerhouse Bayern Munich in 2014, Julian Green is now playing in 2.Bundesliga, which might be one of the reasons why Berhalter hasn’t been so high on him. Things might change soon, however.

Green has been reportedly on the radar of several Bundesliga clubs in recent months and has a buyout clause in his deal with Greuther to help him facilitate a potential move. He has also been on the radar of MLS clubs, who already explored the possibility of bringing him in the past.
