Los Angeles Kings are hoping to forget the ugly start of 2018-19 NHL season. Besides being last in the Western Conference with a 3-7-1 record, they are also dealing with injury issues and have now lost goalkeeper Jonathan Quick.

According to Kings’ coach John Stevens, Quick has undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee and is now ruled out indefinitely.

Injuries do happen and not sure there’s anything in particular you can point to in this situation,” – said Stevens. “I think he’s done a good job of really staying on top of everything, his preventative maintenance, his daily routines, so these things happen sometimes and you have to deal with them.

The Los Angeles Kings drafted Jonathan Quick in the 2005 NHL draft, and he ended up making his NHL debut two years later. During his time with the Kings, Quick won two Stanley Cups and had several individual achievements including three NHL All-Star selections. He played a total of 556 games in NHL and has a 293-195-56 record with .916 save percentage and 2.28 goals-against average.

Jonathan Quick played four games this season in which he had a .845 save percentage and 4.55 goals-against average before being placed on the injured reserve list. He was replaced on the Kings’ goal by Jack Campbell.
