After three straight seasons in which Chicago Bears ended up on the last place of NFC North, the team has decided to fire head coach John Fox. The decision was announced on Monday.

Thank you to all the players, coaches, the city of Chicago and Bears fans everywhere, your passion for the game and this team is unmatched in the NFL,” – said Fox in a statement. “Today is the tough part of our results-oriented business but I wish the Bears organization the best for years to come.

Fox was hired by the Bears in January 2015 and compiled a 14-34 record. Previously, he worked as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers (2002–2010) and Denver Broncos (2011–2014). Fox was particularly successful with the Broncos, leading them to four straight division titles and one Super Bowl appearance. Unfortunately, he couldn’t replicate the success with the Bears and is leaving the franchise with the second lowest win percentage in franchise history. Despite this, the players are sad to see him go.

What I do know about Fox is that he’s a great, passionate coach who didn’t give up on us and didn’t quit on us,” – said Bears cornerback Prince Amukamara. “One thing we did appreciate about him is he always pointed the thumb and not the finger, so he takes all blame and we love him and I know guys are going to miss him.”

Although they will seek a new coach, the team is sticking with general manager Ryan Pace, who signed a contract extension just hours after Fox was fired. Pace will now be tasked with finding a new coach, and it appears that he already has a list of names. He stated that the Bears are looking for the best coach available for their talented young squad and that the team will take time with the process.

Wide receiver Kevin White suffered a fractured shoulder blade and will be put on injured reserve, announced Chicago Bears head coach John Fox on Monday. Fox also added that White could need a surgery, but didn’t exclude White’s return this year. The news was confirmed via a tweet on the Chicago Bears official Twitter profile.

The injury happened in the 4th quarter of Bears’ 23-17 loss to Atlanta Falcons, when White made reception with no gain. After going to the sideline injury tent, he was taken to the locker room and didn’t return. During his time on the field, White had two receptions for 6 yards.

My heart goes out to him. He was very disappointed and discouraged in the locker room after the game for obvious reasons. Again, our thoughts and prayers go out to him. He was pretty upset about it last night and they’re doing evaluations right now.“- said the Bears’ coach Fox. White’s injury wasn’t the only one for the Bears since inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman has reported concussion symptoms and pectoral injury, but the details and severity of the injuries are still unknown.

This is the third major injury that White suffered during his NFL career. In his rookie season, White suffered a stress fracture in his shin, while having a steel rod inserted into his left tibia, eventually failing to make a single regular appearance. White bounced back in 2016, playing for the first 4 games of the season, before fracturing the fibula in his left leg and being placed on the injured reserve.

Chicago Bears drafted Kevin White with the 7th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was considered to be among the best wide receivers in the draft class, alongside Amari Cooper. In his 5 NFL games so far, White had 21 receptions and 193 receiving yards.
