The Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa returned to practice on Thursday for the first time since undergoing groin surgery in Week 3. Bosa complained about continuous groin discomfort until he tore it completely during the 38-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 25.

Despite his prolonged absence, Bosa has experienced confidence in his return to the field, explaining, “I’m feeling really good. It’s kind of revitalizing, honestly.” He has since been designated to injured reserve, meaning that the Chargers will have 21 days to decide whether or not to reactivate him upon returning to fitness.

“His was something that really caused me a lot of pain and kind of stress throughout the last couple of years, and I’ve gotten to a point where I was used to it and I didn’t understand how much was really wrong,” Bosa said of his injury issue. “Obviously, it sucks to miss all this time, but its honestly something that I really, really needed to get done.”

The Chargers are currently 9-6 and are currently second in the AFC West. With a comfortable lead over third-placed Las Vegas Raiders, this is the first time since 2018 that the Chargers have clinched a playoff berth.

Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa expressed his disappointment with the refereeing during his team’s 28-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night, calling the match officials “blind” due to a missed holding call late in the final quarter of the game that resulted in him being hit with what could have been a game-changing penalty.

With just four minutes left on the clock, Bosa threw an incomplete pass; a moment in which he believed that a linesman had been attempting to block him on the play. If Bosa’s claim is correct, then this would be a punishable offense.

Following the Chargers’ win, Bosa expressed his frustration on the matter: “But I mean refs are blind, simple. I’m sorry but you’re blind, like open your eyes and do your job it’s so bad it’s unbelievable.”

While Bosa admitted that he should not have lost his temper at the decision, he still insisted that the officials have should have done a better job, going on to state that the same issues have reoccured over the years.

Fortunately for Bosa’s Chargers, this controversy did not affect their ability to come away with the win, as Derwin James intercepted Carr’s pass to seal the victory just two plays later.

The Los Angeles Chargers have locked up their best defensive player for the foreseeable future. Several weeks after the Cleveland Browns signed their leading defender Myles Garrett to a five-year, $125 million extension, the Bolts rewarded their star edge-rusher even more handsomely.

Defensive end Joey Bosa has agreed to sign a five-year contract extension with the team, worth $135 million.

The contract will keep Bosa in Los Angeles through 2025. Sources close to the team have said that the deal includes more than $100 million in guarantee money with a huge $78 million fully guaranteed as soon as the contract is signed.

All three of these figures are record-breaking for a defensive player in the NFL.

Bosa has proven to be one of the best defensive ends in the league, racking up 40 sacks, 82 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles, and 53 tackles for loss in his first four seasons. What makes these stats even more impressive is the fact that he has missed 13 games due to injuries.

Despite missing the first four games of the season after being drafted third overall in the 2016 draft, Bosa’s performance in the 12 games he played earned him Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa will be sidelined until October as he recovers from a foot injury.

The 23-year-old was added to the injury list last Friday after failing to play in week one’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He also missed Charger’s match against the Buffalo Bills.

Bosa bruised his foot during pre-season practice in August. According to Coach Anthony Lynn, the team’s medical team did not consider the injury serious at the time. After failing to appear in the team’s first preseason game, the defensive end player was sidelined in the Charger’s loss to the Chiefs.

Bosa is not new to injuries. While a rookie in 2016, he missed the first four games of his career dues to a hamstring injury.  He played all games in his second season, notching 23 sacks in his first two seasons.

With Bosa sidelined, the Chargers have Melvin Ingram III in their starting lineup. The 29-year-old has a record of 29 sacks in the past two seasons, making him as defensively gifted as the 23-year-old.

However, Bosa’s absence will still be missed noting that the Chargers don’t have a lot of options in the defensive end. With Ingram with little backup, offensive teams will look forward to attacking the LA-based team on that line.
