LA Galaxy badly needed to make some quality additions to their roster after parting ways with Mexico international midfielder Giovani dos Santos last week, and it seems like they got one in the bag already. According to Yahoo Sports, Galaxy is finalizing the signing of U.S. international midfielder Joe Corona, who is currently under contract with Liga MX side Club Tijuana.

Reportedly, the transfer is only pending MLS approval, and Corona could make his LA debut against FC Dallas on Saturday. The 28-year-old is expected to join Galaxy on a permanent deal.

Joe Corona spent the 2018 season on loan at Club America, helping the team to win Liga MX title. This season, however, he struggled with injuries which made him lost his place in the starting 11. Once he recovered, Corona failed to regain his place in the rotation and eventually decided to seek a move to MLS.

Corona made his professional debut with Club Tijuana in 2010 and played 180 games for the club while scoring 12 goals. He also spent significant time on loans and had stints with Veracruz and Sinaloa.

After making one appearance for Mexico U22, Joe Corona decided to represent the United States on an international level since 2012. He made 23 appearances for USMNT and scored three goals.
