]]>Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse spent the first five years of his professional career with Seattle Seahawks before being traded to the New York Jets in 2017. It seems that Kearse had a great time in Seattle since he wouldn’t mind becoming a part of the Seahawks once again now that he is a free agent.
During a recent interview with Doug Baldwin and Cliff Avril on Sports Radio 950 KJR, Kearse said he would love to return to Seattle if there is an opportunity for that.
“Yeah. Look, I would love to play back in Seattle,” – said Kearse. “Obviously things have to work out in it’s own, and things have to be right. It would be an opportunity that would be a great opportunity.”
Kearse has deep ties with Seattle as he grew up in a nearby place and went to college at the University of Washington. Also, his wife is from the area as well. The 29-year-old however, noted that he didn’t speak with anyone from Seahawks organization about the reunion.
“I have not personally talked to John [Schneider, team’s general manager] or Pete [Carroll, team’s head coach],” – he added. “I know my agent has really close ties with Pete, so I’m pretty sure they’ve

Sheldon Richardson has been rumored to be on his way out of the Jets for some time now. Although he is considered to be one of the NFL’s best young defensive linemen, his talent was often overshadowed by the problems Richardson had off the pitch including suspensions for failing the league’s substance abuse policy, badmouthing his teammates, using profanity and failing to show up at team meetings. In 2015, Richardson also faced resisting arrest and traffic violations charges. He was found guilty and received 2 years probation.
Drafted by Jets in 2013 NFL Draft as the 13th overall pick, Richardson made the Pro Bowl selection in 2014 and received AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2013. In 2016, Richardson had 62 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He will be a free agent in 2018, so the package that the Jets got for him is maybe good enough, considering the possibility Richardson wasn’t all in about signing an extension.
With Kearse, Jets got a reliable starter who is still capable to provide occasional magic. Seattle Seahawks signed Jermaine Kearse in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. He won Super Bowl XLVIII with Seahawks and had 153 receptions, 2,110 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns during his time at the team. Even if Kearse ends up having below average season, second-round pick from Seahawks will come in handy for the rebuilding process Jets are going through. Richardson brought problems that Jets don’t need in the time when they are trying to change the locker room culture and build a winning team.
