The Seattle Seahawks star safety Jamal Adams reportedly might face discipline from the NFL for his inappropriate behavior on the sidelines during Monday night’s game against the New York Giants.

Adams took a helmet hit in the first quarter on one play and was slow to get up while looking unstable on his feet. He went into the medical tent for a concussion examination and apparently wasn’t satisfied with something the independent concussion doctor said. The 27-year-old player was later seen yelling at the doctor and had to be calmed down by the Seahawks’ coaching staff.

If the league ends up deciding to discipline Adams, the most likely outcome is that he will receive a hefty fine but avoid suspension. For his part, Adams already issued a public apology for his actions directed at the doctor.

When asked by reporters about the reasons for Adams’ frustration, Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll didn’t offer many details.

“By the time they got all the assessments done, he couldn’t play,” said Carol earlier in the week. “Somebody said something that wasn’t with us. It was somebody else that he might have responded to. I’m not sure about that.”

The game against the Giants was a season debut for Adams. He previously missed all but one game of the 2022 campaign while dealing with a torn quad tendon.

The Seattle Seahawks won’t have their Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams ready for 2023 season opener against the Los Angeles Rams. This was confirmed by the team’s head coach, Pete Carroll, on Friday.

During an appearance on 93.3 KJR-FM radio, Carroll said that Adams is still some time away from getting back on the field. According to Carroll, the Seahawks don’t want to risk anything and will wait until the 27-year-old is 100% ready to play.

“If you watched him work out, you would not think that he couldn’t go,” Carroll said. “He’s really working hard at it, but we’ve got to make sure that once he’s back, he stays back, so we’re going to be really careful with how we do that.”

Adams suffered a torn quad tendon in the 2022 season opener and had to undergo surgery that ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign. The Seahawks activated him off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list in late August, but he has yet to start practicing.

Seattle doesn’t have to rush Adams backs, considering they have signed veteran safety Julian Love to a two-year, $12 million deal in the offseason. Love is set to start opposite Pro Bowler Quandre Diggs until Adams is ready to return to action.

The Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has heard the rumors about his team looking to move on from star safety Jamal Adams. And he wants everybody to know that there is no truth in them at all.

The Seahawks brought in standout safety Julian Love in free agency, handing him a two-year, $12 million deal. His arrival stirred the chatter that Adams might be the odd man out due to his recent struggles and big contract since Seattle also has Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs on their roster. However, Carroll refuted this notion in a chat with reporters this week, saying the team plans on playing all three at the same time.

“I know there’s some conversation that what we did with Julian, does that have some impact on Jamal or Quandre — it doesn’t, “said Carroll. “We have a clear thought of what we’re going to do with our guys and how we want to play them, and we feel very fortunate to have all our guys.”

Jamal Adams joined the Seahawks in a blockbuster trade from the New York Jets in 2020 and went on to deliver a Pro Bowl campaign that saw him get 83 tackles and 9.5 sacks in just 12 games. He ended up signing a four-year, $72 million extension the next year, becoming the highest-paid safety in the game.

However, the investment didn’t exactly work out for the Seahawks so far. Adams had a disappointing campaign in 2021, failing to get a single sack for the first time in his pro career. He then got hurt in Week 1 of the 2022 season and hasn’t played a game since.

Seattle Seahawks and All-Pro safety Jamal Adams agreed to a four-year extension that can be worth up to $72 million. The deal, made official by the team on Tuesday, makes Adams the highest-paid player in his position with a $17.5 million annual salary.

The extension comes with a $38 million guarantee and a $20 million signing bonus. Adams is now under contract with the Seahawks through 2025.

The two sides were reportedly engaged in contract discussions for the better part of the offseason. Adams decided to report for training camp, deciding not to take the “holdout” route as the talks dragged out, but did not participate in the practices and team activities. Still, both parties were motivated to get the deal done and managed to do so before the season started.

“We officially signed. I’m excited to be here. It’s going to be a wonderful journey, man,” said Adams about the extension before adding that his next goal is to win a championship in Seattle.

Seahawks acquired Jamal Adams during the 2020 offseason, sending a trade package headlined by two first-round picks to the New York Jets. The deal immediately paid off for Seattle, as Adams had a monster season that saw him getting 9.5 sacks and breaking the NFL record for most sacks by a defensive back. He also had 59 tackles, three pass deflections, and one forced fumble en route to his third straight Pro Bowl nod and  Second-team All-Pro selection.

The New York Jets have traded their disgruntled superstar defender, Jamal Adams, to the Seattle Seahawks for a huge package that yields New York two first-round draft picks over the next two years.

New York also gets a solid stopgap safety with 29-year-old Bradley McDougald coming from Seattle in the trade as well. The Seahawks get Adams and the Jets’ fourth-round pick in the 2022 draft.

After a seven-month contract dispute and about a month after Adams publically asked to be traded, the Jets received a deal they couldn’t refuse. While Adams is already a superstar at the age of 24 and was probably the best player on either side of the ball for the Jets, his refusal to play for them and his recent public criticism of the organization made it impossible for New York to keep him.

With the trade, the Jets gain tremendous draft capital, scoring two first-round picks, and the Seahawks, who are already perennial contenders in the NFC, sure up their defensive backfield by adding the talented Adams to the mix.

Sources claimed earlier that the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers were also very interested in Adams. However, Seattle began aggressively pursuing the Pro Bowl safety several weeks ago.

Even though Adams was demanding a contract extension from the Jets, seeking to become the highest-paid safety in the NFL, it appears that he is fine with playing this year in Seattle without a new contract before trying to negotiate a long-term deal in the offseason.

New York Jets’ star safety Jamal Adams continues to do his best to alienate himself from the organization in an attempt to force a trade. This time, he decided to take a jab at his head coach Adam Gase.

In a recent interview with New York Daily News, Adams criticized Gase and said that he isn’t the right leader for the Jets organization.

“I don’t feel like he’s the right leader for this organization to reach the Promised Land,” said Adams. “As a leader, what really bothers me is that he doesn’t have a relationship with everybody in the building.”

Adams didn’t miss the opportunity to voice his displeasure with general manager Joe Douglas as well, blasting him for the way he handled the recent contract negotiations.

“It was very insulting,” Adams added.

Jamal Adams officially asked the New York Jets to trade him back in June after the organization didn’t give him a contract extension he wants. However, Jets have been taking the slow and steady approach with the matter, as they have him under contract for three more years with the franchise tag included.

Reportedly, Jets are willing to consider offers for the All-Pro but expect a big return that would include at least two first-round picks and several more assets. The list of interested teams includes Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, and Dallas Cowboys.

Adams finished the 2019 season with 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks, seven pass deflections, one interception, and one touchdown. He earned his second Pro Bowl selection and was selected First-Team All-Pro for the first time in his career.

Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are taking their division rivalry off the field and into the front offices. According to Sports Illustrated’s Corbin Smith, both the Seahawks and the 49ers are interested in acquiring New York Jets’ All-Pro safety Jamal Adams.

Adams recently made a trade request after the team failed to give him a contract extension he asked for. Jets reportedly are not interested in trading the 24-year-old safety despite this, but that didn’t stop them from having preliminary talks with Seahawks and 49ers.

Adams previously revealed a list of teams he would be willing to go to without an immediate extension, and Seattle and San Francisco are both there. However, they would need to give up a massive package in order to get him.

Jets have Jamal Adams under contract for two more years, and can also franchise tag him in 2022. This is why the organization isn’t in a hurry to move him anytime soon unless they get an offer they can’t say no to. This would most likely have to include at least one or two first-round picks, a combination of later round picks and possibly a player that could start right away.

Since entering the NFL in 2017, Adams earned two Pro Bowl nods and has one First-Team All-Pro selection from 2019. He has 46 starts during which he racked up 273 tackles, 12.0 sacks, 25 passes defended, two interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns.

It appears that the already strained relationship between New York Jets and safety Jamal Adams got a lot worse. According to multiple reports around the league, Adams has requested a trade from the Jets on Friday.

Adams has reportedly grown frustrated by the Jets’ unwillingness to give him the extension he wants and decided he wants out. The two sides have been negotiating for a while now but failed to make significant progress.

Adams previously hinted at his dissatisfaction via social media. He first accused the team of having “a lot of talk, no action,” and then wrote that “maybe it’s time to move on” while responding to an Instagram post.

Jamal Adams, who emerged as one of the best safeties in the league in recent years, was already close to leaving New York Jets after clashing with the team’s front office last year. Reportedly, Jets fielded calls on Adams and were close to dealing him to Dallas Cowboys before pulling out of the deal at the last moment.

After another impressive season in 2019, which included Pro Bowl appearance and First-Team All-Pro honors, Adams decided to demand a new deal from the Jets despite having two years left on his rookie contract. The 24-year-old is reportedly looking to become the highest-paid safety in the league and top Chicago Bears’ Eddie Jackson, who earns $14.6 million per year.

Some sources add that Adams asked to become the Jets’ highest-paid player overall, which would mean eclipsing linebacker C.J. Mosley’s annual salary of $17 million.

Jets, on the other hand, are reluctant to cave in and give Adams what he wants. They still have him under control for two years for combined $13.4 million and can also franchise him for a reasonable amount in 2022.

If Adams and Jets end up parting ways, it is expected that Cowboys get right back into the mix. Other teams that might be interested in LSU’s product include Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans.

While New York Jets stated multiple times that they don’t intend to trade Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams, rumors about the subject still continue to surface. But Jets’ fans shouldn’t be worried about losing one of their best players according to Adams’ teammate linebacker C.J. Mosley.

In a recent chat with ESPN, Mosley said that he doesn’t believe Jets’ will trade Adams since that would be a “crazy move.”

“To me, I wasn’t too worried about that,” said Mosley. “That would be a crazy move.”

According to Mosley, Adams is one of Jets’ leaders and a galvanizing presence that makes everyone on the team play better.

“To have that presence in the secondary, a guy that can make plays in the passing game and also plays in the backfield — in the box — that’s always exciting,” he added.

Since Jets drafted him sixth overall in 2017, Jamal Adams established himself as one of the best safeties in the league. He received Pro Bowl in the last two seasons while also earning First-team All-Pro honors in 2019. Despite this, however, Adams has been on the trading block for the past year.

Reportedly, Adams was close to joining Dallas Cowboys last year, but the move fell through in the last moment. Jets also had trade talks with other teams about the 24-year-old, but those didn’t get much traction due to the team’s high asking price.

In case the Jets don’t trade Adams this offseason, they will most likely have to pay him. According to reports, the player will skip the team’s voluntary programs and wants to get an extension before the start of the new season that would make him the highest-paid safety in the league.

Pro Bowl safety won’t be part of New York Jets’ voluntary offseason programs this year. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams will hold out due to the team’s unwillingness to give him a new contract.

Adams has been vocal about his wish for a new deal for some time now, but Jets are not entertaining the idea considering they can have him under contract for two more seasons. Now the 24-year-old hopes his absence might make the team change their mind.

Adams is set to earn $3.5 million in 2020, with Jets also holding the fifth-year option on his rookie deal.

Holding out became a lot easier this year due to the league’s decision to introduce voluntary offseason programs in a virtual form.  Due to ongoing health crisis, the players will work out from home with teams providing them instructions via online platforms.

Jamal Adams had his second consecutive Pro Bowl and All-Pro season last year, finishing 2019 with 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks, seven pass deflections, and one interception. Despite this, Jets were close to trading him last trade deadline.

Adams criticized the Jets’ coaching staff and front office for the team’s bad plays and was reportedly unhappy with the franchise. The Jets nearly dealt him to Dallas Cowboys after that, but the two teams couldn’t agree on compensation.
