Former England international Jack Wilshere is currently looking for a new club after being released by West Ham United earlier this month. And while there are several reputable clubs interested in Wilshere’s services, the player reportedly favors a move to MLS instead.

According to English media outlet Mirror, Wilshere now believes that going to the United States could help him rebuild his career. He already had approaches from several MLS clubs and might agree to a move in the next couple of weeks.

Other speculated destinations for Wilshere are Scottish giants Rangers F.C., and several clubs for LA Liga and Seria A.

Wilshere has been struggling with injuries and inconsistency in recent years, which resulted in him falling out of favor at West Ham. When the Premier League side couldn’t find any takers from him this past summer, the club decided to release the 28-year-old midfielder as he was one of the club’s biggest earners.

Jack Wilshere was perceived as one of England’s brightest talents, having made his debut for Arsenal at the age of 16. And while he managed to live up to the hype early on, injuries and fitness issues prevented Wilshere to have the career everyone predicted him.

Wilshere made close to 200 appearances for Arsenal in all competition, helping the club to two FA Cup wins. He also has 34 call-ups for England’s senior team, with the last one coming in 2016.
