Inter Miami are reportedly cleaning house ahead of the 2024 MLS season. According to Tom Bogert of The Athletic, Miami made several players available for transfer, including USMNT right back DeAndre Yedlin, in an effort to become roster-compliant for the upcoming campaign.

Besides Yedlin, Miami would also like to move on from defensive midfielder Gregore, attacking midfielder Jean Mota, wing-back Robert Taylor and defender Sergii Kryvtsov. French striker Corentin Jean is also believed to be on the exit door, with the club working on either trading him or reaching a contract buyout with the 28-year-old.

Reportedly, Inter Miami needs to generate additional allocation money in order to use it as an extension of the base salary budget and keep other high-paid players on their roster. Additionally, the departures would help them remove some salary from their books.

Inter Miami already made various moves this offseason to help their chances of becoming roster compliant. They traded Kamal Miller and Chris McVey to Portland Timbers and D.C. United respectively, while selling Nicolas Stefanelli to Hungarian club Fehervar FC. Miami also let several players leave the club for free, including former MLS MVP Josef Martínez.

Miami was also active when it comes to inbound moves, which included signing Barcelona legend Luis Suarez on a free contract and agreeing to a reported $8 million transfer for Argentine prospect Federico Redondo.

The star-studded Inter Miami roster is finally showing signs of life. After losing six straight games, Miami bounced back against Toronto FC and delivered one of their best performances in a while to claim a 3-0 win.

Veteran midfielder Federico Higuain opened the scoring in the 10th minute after picking up a bad clearance pass from Toronto’s goalkeeper Alex Bono. Christian Makoun added to Miami’s lead just before halftime, using the confusion in the penalty box after Gonzalo Higuain’s corner kick to put the ball behind Bono once again.

The second half saw Toronto ramping up their attacking efforts in an attempt to get a goal. They managed to do so, but unfortunately for them, it was an own goal from defender Eriq Zavaleta in the 61st minute.

With three goals in the bag, Miami opted to slow things down, which caused the last 30 minutes to be rather uneventful.

The win will certainly provide a big lift for Inter as it became obvious that the losing streak was starting to cause a confidence crisis in the squad. The team will especially be happy for the high-scoring performance, considering they only scored once while conceding 16 goals in the previous six games.

Inter is now 11th in the Eastern Conference with 35 points. Their chances of making playoffs remain alive although it is fair to say it would be a small miracle if they get there.

Toronto, on the other hand, is second from the bottom with just 25 points from 30 matches.
