Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr. cleared the league’s concussion protocol on Friday yet remains listed as questionable ahead of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons as he continues to harbor a shoulder injury. Still, the Colts receiver does not recall the hit that landed him in concussion protocol.

Pittman was on the receiving end of an illegal hit from safety Damontae Kazee during the Colts’ 30-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. “I honestly never saw him coming,” Pittman admitted. “I was diving, I caught it, and then all of a sudden, I woke up and there’s people looking down at me. I was like, ‘Oh, s—, what just happened?”

Kazee lowered his head and hit Pittman in his head and neck area, with the Colts receiver’s head snapping back in the process. Pittman hit the turf and was knocked unconscious, with Kazee being ejected from the game. On Monday, he was suspended for the remainder of the regular season, firefighting about $208,000 in pay as a result.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is set to undergo surgery on his thumb on Wednesday, team owner Jim Irsay confirmed. The Colts are hoping that Taylor’s absence will only be in the region of two to three weeks.

During the Colts’ 27-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccanneers on Sunday, Taylor emerged as a standout player, having played throughout the entire game. Playing 42 snaps and making 15 carries, Taylor closed out the game with an eight-yard run with 1:24 remaining, allowing the Colts to run out the clock and secure victory.

Following a public contract standoff, Taylor’s season has been disrupted by injuries, with the running back missing the first four games of the current campaign due to an ankle injury. After undergoing a right shoulder surgery after 2016 NFL season, Andrew Luck still hasn’t returned to the field. The Indianapolis Colts already ruled him for the remainder of 2017 season, although there were some talks that he could return in 2017. In November, Luck went to Europe in order to get additional treatment for his shoulder, and it looks like it worked. He spent six weeks working in the Netherlands with a trainer, and now thinks he will not require another surgery.

My gut and my feeling tells me that I do not need another surgery,” – said Luck. “I think I need to work more and to stay on this straight and narrow, if you will. I don’t want to sound like throwing is the test. I’m doing well, and I will continue to do well. That’s how I feel today.

Luck returned to practices in September, but continuing pain in the right shoulder forced him to seek additional treatment. Although the 28-year-old quarterback says he is feeling good, the real test will come in January, when he starts throwing the ball; something he didn’t do since October. In case that he undergoes another surgery, Luck will be sidelined at least six more months.

For now, however, he plans to be ready for the next season.

I believe in the process I’m in right now.” – added Luck. “I’ve got great help and hope to continue to get better. I plan on being ready for everything — everything official, NFL offseason, schedule. … I plan on being ready.

Andrew Luck injured his throwing shoulder in Week 3 of the 2015 season and went on to play for four more games, before missing the rest of the season with an unrelated illness. He then reinjured the shoulder in Week 2 of the 2016 season but played out the rest of the season.
