Green Bay Packers’ veteran kicker Mason Crosby would like to forget his team’s 31-23 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. In a game that ended with Lions being eight points up, Crosby missed four field goals and one extra point. This means that the 34-year-old had left 13 points on the table, which would have brought his team a win.

On Sunday, Crosby became the first kicker in NFL since 1980 and Los Angeles Chargers’ Rolf Benirschke to miss four straight FGs. Before this, he was 10 out of 11 in 2018.

“Well, obviously shocked; it’s never happened to me,”- said Crosby after the game. “That’s never happened to me. It doesn’t happen. So I’m going to evaluate it but I’m going to [chalk] it up to something that is an anomaly in life that I’ve never even been a part of. So I’m going to evaluate the details like I do every week and move on. Because that one for me is something that I’ve never been a part of and hope to never be part of again.”

Mason Crosby was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 2007 Draft. He was the NFL leading scorer in his rookie season and went on to win Super Bowl XLV with the Packers in 2011. Through his NFL career, Crosby managed to make 277 field goals with an 80.3 percent success rate.
