Aaron Rodgers was not permitted to participate in practice with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday due to injury. In addition to still harboring an ongoing right thumb injury, the Packers quarterback has hurt his left knee.

Rodgers was sacked by the Miami Dolphins safety Eric Rowe before being fallen on by Christian Wilkins during the second quarter of Sunday’s game.

“I got a lot of body weight on my knee,” Rodgers said after the incident. “Had some extra flexion I haven’t known for the last 20 years. So just been doing rehab the last few days and feeling a lot better.”

Following his absence on Wednesday, Rodgers confirmed that he does expect to return to practice later this week, potentially on Thursday. Although the injury did not appear to impact Rodgers for the remainder of the Dolphins game, he revealed that fluids started to build up on his knee during the flight home.

The Packers will be hoping for Rodgers’ return ahead of Sunday’s must-win fixture against the Minnesota Vikings. While a win will not guarantee the Packers a playoff spot, the team must avoid defeat in order to still be in with a chance.

Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari will not play in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears after having his appendix removed on Friday. After missing Friday’s practice, Bakhtiari took to social media to announce his surgery as did the Packers.

Later in the day, Bakhtiari posted an update on social media explaining that the procedure went well.

This is the latest in a string of injury concerns for the left tackle. On October 23, Bakhtiari was unable to play against the Washington Commanders due to chronic knee issues that date back to the end of the 2020 season. As a result of this recurring issue, Bakhtiari also missed the first two weeks of the current season.

While Bakhtiari will be unavailable, the Packers will be boosted by the news that star quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be available for the Bears game. He has been removed from the injury report and cleared to play after suffering a rib injury last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. After practicing on Thursday and Friday in a limited capacity, Rodgers is expected to wear some form of rib protection during Sunday’s game.

The Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur has confirmed that Aaron Rodgers will start in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears if he is fit to play. This comes despite the strong performance of replacement quarterback Jordan Love in the Packers’ 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers had to leave the game third quarter after suffering a rib injury. The Packers star underwent a series of tests on Monday after he stated that he was suffering from pain and had trouble breathing.

LaFleur has confirmed that he will stick with Rodgers as first-choice quarterback until such time that injury requires him to be replaced, despite the fact that Love has been more physically fit this season. Before the rib injury, Rodgers had been playing for weeks with a broken right thumb.

“It’s just, we’ve got a lot of faith, quite frankly, in both those guys. But you know, Aaron’s the starting quarterback,” LaFleur commented. “He’s battled through a lot throughout the course of his career. It’s pretty well documented, and I think he’s been able to play at a pretty high level through a lot of different situations. So again, we’ll take it one game at a time and make the best decision moving forward.”

The short-handed Green Bay Packers have added two more names to their injury list following a tight 24-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday.

Tight end Robert Tonyan suffered a clean tear of the ACL in his left knee, his agent, Jack Bechta, revealed on Friday. It was late on in the third quarter that Tonyan injured his knee at the end of a 33-yard reception. Tonyan’s injury aside, this proved to be a game-winning play that resulted in the Packers extending their lead to 24-14.

Rookie running back/kick returner Kylin Hill incurred a severe knee injury after colliding with the Cardinals’ running back Jonathan Ward; a clash that resulted in both players getting carted off the field. Hill is reportedly expected to miss out on the rest of the season as a result.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur reflected on the players’ injuries on Friday, stating: “It’s the part of the game that sucks, quite frankly. I feel awful for both those guys. They put a lot into this thing. They’re tough guys to replace. I know Kylin wasn’t as involved with our offense up to this point, but certainly what he’s done on special teams is going to be tough to replace.”

Green Bay Packers are set to face division rivals Detroit Lions on Sunday without their wide receiver Randall Cobb, who has been officially ruled out for the game on Friday morning. This means that Cobb, who suffered a hamstring injury during practice last week, will miss his second consecutive game.

This was an expected decision since the 28-year-old told reporters on Thursday that he isn’t 100 percent satisfied with his recovery progress.

I think we’ve still got some progress to make before I think both sides would be comfortable,” – said Cobb. “It’s a long season, and we’re on Game 5, but at the same time, it’s a short season, and we’re on Game 5. So it’s trying to balance both of those. If something was to happen and I reinjure the same hamstring, it’s going to put me out for double the time. So it’s trying to be smart on both sides of it, which I struggle with because I play through emotion.

In the first three games of 2018 season, Randall Cobb caught 17 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown. He was particularly impressive in the comeback win against the Chicago Bears when he had had nine receptions for 142 yards.

Being without Cobb isn’t the only problem Packers are facing, since it remains unclear whether Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison, the other two of their leading three wide receivers, will be able to play.

Adams is still questionable after suffering a calf injury in practice on Wednesday, but the team is hopeful that he will make enough progress until Sunday. Allison, on the other side, is in concussion protocol but according to head coach Mike McCarthy: “there’s hope for Geronimo.”

If things don’t turn the way Green Bay Packers hope, Aaron Rodgers might be forced to three rookie receivers, out of which only fifth-round pick Marquez Valdes-Scantling has caught a pass in the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers had a 7-6 record entering the game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and they needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. After being on injured reserve for eight weeks, their star QB Aaron Rodgers was back in the starting line-up, ready to lead the Packers to victory. Except, he didn’t. Now that Packers’ don’t have a chance to make a postseason, they have returned Rodgers on injured reserve once again. Brett Hundley will take over the starting quarterback position, while the team also signed Joe Callahan to the 53-man roster.

It’s what we felt was best for Aaron,” – said Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy. “He was sore, took a number of hits. We felt this was the best decision.” McCarthy also added that Rodgers was not happy with the decision to get back on IR.

In the 24-31 game against the Panthers, Rodgers didn’t have his best showing. Although he threw three touchdowns, he also had three interceptions and was sacked three times while being hit 12 times. Rodgers’ completion rate was 57.8 for 290 yards. The Packers still had slim hopes after the defeat to reach the playoffs, but they ended when the Atlanta Falcons defeated Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.

For Joe Callahan, who will serve as a backup for Brett Hundley, this will be the third time he has become a part of the Green Bay Packers active roster. After going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, Callahan signed with the Packers. He had 499 yards and three touchdowns in the preseason, which led the team to assign him to their active roster. The Packers released him in October 2016 and he spent a short time with the New Orleans Saints and the Cleveland Browns, before rejoining the Packers’ practice squad and becoming a part of the active roster in December 2016.

Green Bay Packers are anticipating the moment when their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers could come back to lead the team again after the injury, and now might be the time. Rodgers himself gave an update on his condition via Instagram post.

Previously, the Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy said the team has been evaluating Rodgers’ condition.

It is now in the evaluation stage,” – said McCarthy. “Dr. McKenzie is reviewing it. There’s a number of medical opinions that will be involved in a decision, so at this time, I do not have a clean decision for you or an update. That’s where it stands.

Aaron Rodgers suffered an injury on October 15 in the game against the Minnesota Vikings, which caused the Packers to place him on injured reserve. A few days later he underwent a surgery. According to the rules, Rodgers is eligible for return in this week’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Before the injury occurred, Rodgers had one of the best starts in his career. In five games before the meeting with the Vikings, he passed for 1,367 yards, lead the league in a number of touchdowns with 13 and had only three interceptions.

Without Rodgers, Brett Hundley took over the quarterback responsibilities and led the team to 3-4 record, if we don’t count the game against the Vikings. During his run as the Packers starting QB, Hundley had 63.9 completion rate for 1,534 yards. He had eight touchdowns and the same amount of interceptions. Still, the 24-year-old quarterback has managed to keep the Packers’ playoff hopes alive, since the team now has a 7-6 record.

My No. 1 thought going into it was keep our hopes alive to make the playoffs, and we’re still in it,”- said Hundley recently.

One of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, suffered a broken collarbone in the Sunday night’s loss against Minnesota Vikings, and could potentially miss the rest of the season. The injury occurred in the first quarter when Rodgers was hit by Vikings’ linebacker Anthony Barr.

According to Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, Rodgers will have a surgery on his collarbone in the near future. Although his season might be over, the team will make the final decision after the procedure.

Aaron Rodgers suffered a significant injury in the game,” – McCarthy said at the press conference on Monday. “It will require surgery. He’ll be out a minimum of a significant amount of time. Potentially, his season can be over. He’ll have surgery here in the near future. After we see how that goes, focus on getting better and healthy – that’s all that really matters right now.

With Rodgers out for a significant time, there are lots of speculations about where will Packers move from here. Some analysts suggest that Packers should go after Tony Romo, but coach McCarthy doesn’t think Packers should look behind their roster. Packers have quarterbacks Brett Hundley and Joe Callahan at their disposal. Hundley stepped on Sunday and had 18 passes completed and 33 attempted for 157 yards.

I’ve got three years invested in Brett Hundley. I’ve got great confidence in Brett Hundley,” – McCarthy said about team’s quarterback situation. “I’ve got two years invested in Joe Callahan. It’s a quarterback room that has structure and there is a philosophy behind the development of it and it will be applied to the game plan.

Aaron Rodgers joined a long list of injured NFL superstars that includes New York Giants’ wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Houston Texans’ defensive end JJ Watt.
