The Golden State Warriors had a few scares in Game 5 of their 2022 NBA Finals clash against the Boston Celtics but still managed to walk away with a 104-94 win. The Dubs now have a 3-2 lead in the series and are just one game away from winning their seventh NBA championship in franchise history and fourth since 2015.

The Warriors had a furious start to the game, taking a 27-16 lead to wrap up the first quarter. The second quarter saw a more balanced contest before the Celtics crawled their way back into the game in the third. At one point, Boston thought they would finish the period with a lead before Jordan Poole made a 33-foot buzzer-beater to swing momentum in Golden State’s favor. This set the stage for another dominant spell by the Warriors in the fourth quarter that eventually sealed the win.

An unexpected hero for Golden State was forward Andrew Wiggins, who scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds on the night. Wiggins stepping up was key for the Warriors, considering that their star guard Stephen Curry had an off night. Curry had 16 points while missing all of his nine three-point attempts. This marked the end of a 233-game streak in which the two-time NBA MVP scored at least one three-pointer.

On the other hand, the Celtics saw Jayson Tatum finish the night with 27 points and 10 boards but ended up being let down by their bench. Boston’s reserves contributed with only 10 points combined, while no bench player scored more than three points.

The Celtics and the Warriors will meet again in Boston on Thursday night for what-could-be deciding Game 6.

It was a bittersweet Game 5 victory for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

The Dubs beat the Rockets 104-99 at home with the series tied at two games apiece, giving them a crucial 3-2 advantage going into Game 6 in Houston. With that being said, however, one of their superstars went down with an injury during the course of the game that could alter the entire composition of the series.

Kevin Durant, who scored 22 points before exiting, left late in the third quarter after a non-contact calf injury. After shooting a jumper over Iman Shumpert, Durant collapsed to the ground, clutching his leg.

Durant’s injury was described as a “calf strain” by the Warriors, but he is set to undergo an MRI to further examine the injury and to determine how long he’ll be out.

Klay Thompson stepped up in Durant’s absence, scoring 27 points to lead Golden State. He hit 5 of 10 three pointers and made crucial shots down the stretch to seal the Warriors’ victory.

James Harden led Houston with 31 points in his team’s loss.

Game 6 will be held at the Toyota Center on Friday night.

After two games in Oakland’s Oracle Arena, the 2018 NBA Finals moved to Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night. But little has changed. Although Cleveland Cavaliers looked great at the beginning of the game, Golden State Warriors still managed to get away with a 110-102 win.

Cavs clicked on all cylinders in the first half, ending it with a six-point lead, while the Warriors struggled and it almost looked like we could end up having a competitive series in the 2018 NBA Finals. Then came Kevin Durant and brought the Warriors back into the game in the third quarter. The teams exchanged leads in the fourth quarter multiple times, but then Durant decided it was time to end it all with one minute left in the game. He drilled a 34-foot 3-pointer with four seconds left on the game clock and just demoralized the Cavaliers who didn’t manage to find a way to recover.

Kevin Durant ended the game with 43 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists. He has also had a very efficient game, shooting 15-of-23 from the field and drilling six out of his nine attempted three-pointers. No other Warriors player managed to score more than 11 points.

“I try not to think about just scoring, but, you know, we struggled to shoot the ball early on and I felt like I had some good looks,“- said Durant after the game. “I started asking for more of them, and I was able to knock down some shots for us.

Durant’s performance particularly impressed his Warriors coach Steve Kerr.

That was amazing what he did out there tonight,” – said Kerr. “Some of those shots, I don’t think anybody in the world can hit those but him. He was incredible.

Warriors will look to use this momentum and try to win Game 4 of 2018 NBA Finals on Friday night, which would bring them their second consecutive NBA title and third in the last four years.

Reigning champions Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of 2018 NBA Finals on Thursday night. For those who haven’t watched the game, this information isn’t any surprise given the fact that the Warriors entered the series as heavy favorites. But those who watched the game know that they needed a combination of luck, doubtful calls from the referees, inexplicable move from Cavs’ JR Smith and five minute overtime in order to get the 124-114 win in front of their home crowd.

To everyone’s surprise, the Golden State Warriors never managed to build a large lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers throughout the Game 1 of 2018 NBA Finals. After a tied score at the halftime, Warriors had another of their game-changing third quarters and entered the fourth quarter with six points lead. Still, LeBron James was a man on the mission and brought back the Cavs into the game but his greatness simply couldn’t overcome the mistakes of the referees and his teammates. Referees made three controversial calls against James in the fourth quarter, but the most crucial one came in the last minute of the regular time.

Cavs were up two with 40 seconds remaining on the clock, and Kevin Durant drove to the basket in an attempt to make it a tied game. He was met by LeBron James, who took the hit and Durant was charged with an offensive foul. Still, the judges decided to review the play in order to see whether James was in the restricted area, although it was obvious he was few feet outside of it. The call was then overruled, with James getting called for a foul and Durant receiving free throws.

Then, 4.7 seconds before the end of the game and with score tied, JR Smith managed to grab an offensive rebound out of George Hill’s missed free throw and instead passing the ball or calling a timeout, he let the clock run out and made a late pass to Hill, thus sending the game in overtime. Apparently, Smith thought Cavs were in the lead and are about to win the game.

Cavs couldn’t recover from all of this and Warriors seized the opportunity to take the lead in 2018 NBA Finals.

As expected, LeBron James had another exceptional game, scoring 51 points and adding eight rebounds and assists. Kevin Love also showed up, contributing with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

On the Warriors side, Kevin Durant had 26 points, nine rebounds, and six assists while Stephen Curry added 29 points, six rebounds, and nine assists.

We will see Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors going head to head in the 2018 NBA Finals, which will mark the fourth straight time these two teams meet in the finals. This is the result of highly entertaining and thrilling Conference Finals, which wrapped up on Monday night with Warriors win against the Houston Rockets in the Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. The night before, Cavaliers managed to overcome the Boston Celtics in the Game 7 of Eastern Conference Finals.

Cleveland Cavaliers managed to advance to the 2018 NBA Finals thanks to the sheer determination of LeBron James, who once again showed why he is the best basketball player in the world. Celtics, who were without their two best players in Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward, were the favorites to close out the series in front of their home crowd on Sunday night in Game 7, but their young players cracked under the pressure with James delivering another brilliant performance.

You could say that the Golden State Warriors, on the other side, had a little help from lady luck in their series against the Houston Rockets. Chris Paul, Rockets’ second-best player, suffered a strain hamstring injury in Game 5 of the series and didn’t play in the next two games. Warriors managed to come back from a 2-3 deficit after that and will be looking to win their second straight NBA Championship and third in four years.

2018 NBA Finals is scheduled to begin on May 31st with Warriors having home advantage and set to host Game 1 and Game 2 in their Oracle Arena.

Unfortunately, it looks like this won’t be such a thrilling end of 2017-18 NBA season. Golden State Warriors are entering the series as heavy favorites thanks to their core of four All-Star players, all of which are relatively healthy. Cleveland Cavaliers, on the other side, only have two All-Stars in LeBron James and Kevin Love, with the latter one still recovering from a concussion. The rest of the Cavs’ supporting cast failed to make a major impact during these playoffs and it is hard to see them stepping up now.

Golden State Warriors managed to overcome Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals’ Game 7 and secured their fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals. But, that shouldn’t have been the case according to Rockets’ Eric Gordon who thinks his team would win the series if they had Chris Paul in Game 7. Paul missed last two games of the series due to a strained right hamstring.

It sucks because you know you could win this series if we just had one more playmaker,” – said Gordon on Monday night after Rockets’ 101-92 loss to Warriors. “If we had Chris, if he was out there, we’d have been playing on Thursday. It’s just tough.

It isn’t like Houston Rockets didn’t have a chance to win the game without Paul. They entered the second half of the Game 7 being 11 points ahead but had to watch their lead melting in the third quarter when they managed to score only 15 points compared to Warriors’ 33. It is also worth noting that the Rockets went ice cold from three-point range, hitting 7 out of their 44 attempts, which included missing 27 straight three-pointers in one period.

That’s what C.P. was so good at in two [of the] games we won,” – said Rockets’ coach Mike D’Antoni about the Warriors’ dominance in the third quarter. “They’d make a little run, he’d hit a 3. They make another run, and he makes another play. And you have to have those momentum changers and stoppers, and the last two games, we didn’t have them.

In the series against the Warriors, Chris Paul averaged 19.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

After playing poorly in the Game 1 of Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets found their footing in Game 2 beating the Warriors 127-106 to tie the series 1-1.

One of the reasons why Houston Rockets managed to win so convincingly was the fact that James Harden didn’t have to carry the offensive load by himself. Rockets had five of their players scored 16 or more points including Harden and Eric Gordon who had 27 points, while PJ Tucker and Trevor Ariza added 22 and 19 respectively. Chris Paul ended the night with 16 points but dished out 6 assists and had a great performance on the defense.

Rockets collectively played an impressive game and proved that they can give Warriors run for their money but according to Harden, we are yet to see them on their best.

If the first game we were at a 70, tonight we were at a 95,” – said Harden after the game. “We were pretty aggressive defensively, and that allowed us to get out in transition. If we be comfortable, sit back and just allow them to get to their spots and run around freely, then they’re going to pick us apart. But if we get into them and try to make it tougher on them, good things will happen for us.

We can beat anybody, anywhere at any time playing the way we play,” – added Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni.

Golden State Warriors, on the other side, struggled early on with the turnovers and couldn’t find the answer for the Rockets defense. Kevin Durant had another great game scoring 38 points, but he couldn’t do it all by himself especially since Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson failed to leave their mark on the game. Curry was the only Warriors player except Duran to score in double digits with 16, while Thompson had 8.

They were desperate tonight and played like it, and we weren’t and it showed,” – said Warriors coach Steve Kerr after the game.

The series will now move to Oakland, with the Game 3 of Western Conference Finals scheduled to take place on Sunday night at Oracle Arena.

NBA Western Conference Finals will offer us the spectacle we have been all waiting for. Reigning NBA champions Golden State Warriors will go head to head with the best team in the regular season, Houston Rockets. While the Rockets have said multiple times that they are obsessed with beating the Warriors, it doesn’t seem like it’s the other way around. At least according to Warriors’ forward Draymond Green.

Speaking to the reporters after the 113-104 win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, Green said that the Warriors team just “want to win another championship and that they “don’t matter who’s in the way of that.”

Man, we won two championships in three years. We’re not about to run off talking about how bad we want to play somebody,” – said Green. “We want to win another championship, and it don’t matter who’s in the way of that. If you’re in the way of that, then you happen to be in the way.

We’ve got a goal. Whoever is in the way of that goal, then we got to see you. You got to see us. All right now, they’re in the way. Perfect. But we’re not running around talking about, ‘Man, we want them bad.’ Nah, we want a championship bad. Another one.” – he added.

In the series against the New Orleans Pelicans, Draymond Green proved to be a crucial player for the Warriors once again, becoming the first player in the franchise’s history to average a triple-double in the playoffs. In five games, Green averaged 14.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 10 assists per game. He will have to step once again in the Western Conference Finals since the Houston Rockets will not go down without a big fight.

The first game of the series between the Warriors and the Rockets is scheduled for tip off on Monday, May 14, at 9 p.m. in Houston.

Golden State Warriors managed to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 123-101 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals, but it obviously wasn’t that easy as the final score indicates. According to Warriors’ guard Klay Thompson, playing the Pelicans “was tiring”, a lot more than it was the First Round series against the San Antonio Spurs.

Man, it was tiring,” – said Thompson. “The Spurs, they are a little older, so they play a little more methodical. They try to beat us up in the half court and low block. This team is kind of like playing ourselves. It’s like, you make a bucket, you can’t relax. You have to sprint back, find a shooter and they are pushing the tempo. It’s a whole different ballgame.

The tempo of the game, however, didn’t stop Klay Thompson from scoring a game-high 27 points and adding six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. He even managed to find the time and complain to his teammate Draymond Green.

Klay looked at me on the bench and said, ‘Man, Draymond, I got more tired tonight than I did in any game against the Spurs,’” – said Green with a laugh. “That kind of sums it up. It’s a completely different tempo. They are really pushing the ball like he said, and nonetheless, as long as we are getting back into transition and not giving up easy stuff, I think that plays into our hands.

Klay Thompson might get some break in Game 2 on Tuesday since the Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is set to return to court after being sidelined since late March due to a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee. Curry is listed probable, but won’t have minute restrictions if he ends up playing in the game.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry didn’t play in the playoffs this year, recovering from the Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee. Now it looks like Curry will finally get back on the court on Tuesday when the Warriors face New Orleans Pelicans in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

The 30-year-old has been listed probable for Game 2, while Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr said Curry won’t be on minute restrictions if he ends up playing.

I feel like he’s in a pretty good place to come back right now,” – said Kerr.

Stephen Curry got injured in late March in the game against the Atlanta Hawks. While the Golden State Warriors are being careful with his return, Curry is eager to help his team and wanted to play in the Game 1 against the Pelicans as well.

If it were up to me, I would have played for about 20 minutes tonight,” – said Curry on Saturday. “The plan is to return Tuesday, but ultimately it’s up to the training staff. I feel good.”

Once again Curry was integral for Warriors’ team in the regular season and averaged 26.4 points, 6.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Still, the Golden State Warriors managed to cruise through the First-Round series against the San Antonio Spurs, finishing the job in five games. They also demonstrated their power in Game 1 against the Pelicans with a 123-101 win.
