The Washington Football Team routed the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, winning 41-16 and moving into first place in the NFC East.

The Football Team has now swept their season series with the Cowboys, beating them in both meetings. Their offense was led by a brilliant performance by rookie running back Antonio Gibson, who rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns.

The Cowboys got a less-than-stellar performance from their big-money running back Ezekiel Elliot, who fumbled the ball yet again and now has a whopping six fumbles on the season. Elliot only ran the ball 10 times for a miserable 32 yards from scrimmage.

The Football Team’s defense also had a great day, sacking Dallas quarterback Andy Dalton three times and getting a pick-six off him as well.

The Cowboys played poorly in every facet of the game and even had a fake punt attempt deep in their territory in the fourth quarter that was poorly executed and didn’t fool anyone.

With Gibson running wild, Washington quarterback Alex Smith didn’t need to do much but did put in a steady performance, completing 19 of 26 passes for 149 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Washington needs both the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles to lose this week in order to stay in first place in the division.
