Montreal Impact’s goalkeeper Evan Bush is getting a reward for fine performances he put up in 2018 MLS season. Impact announced on Friday that they have agreed to a new three-year contract with Bush, which will keep the 32-year-old with the club trough 2021.

“Evan signing a new contract with the Impact is excellent news for the future of this team,” – said Impact’ coach Remi Garde in a statement. “His excellent work daily with [goalkeeper coach] Joel Bats, alongside the group’s three other goalkeepers, allowed him to have a very good 2018 season. I’m happy to be able to count on him next season.“

Although Montreal Impact failed to reach the playoffs, Evan Bush had a great season in 2018, recording a career-high 10 shutouts. He was also the top rated goalkeeper in Major League Soccer according to Audi Player Index which takes into account wide range of individual impact on a game by a player and calculates them into a single score.

“I am very excited to continue with the Impact and that my family and I will call Montreal our home for the foreseeable future,” – said Bush after inking the new deal. “The most important aspect of the decision was making sure my wife and kids were happy. I’d like to thank the people of Montreal for accepting us as one of their own over the last eight years through the relationships we have established, making this decision an easy one for us. “

Evan Bush spent the better part of his early soccer career in lower leagues before signing with Impact in 2012. He played a total of 163 MLS regular season game for Montreal since then, recording 42 clean sheets.
