Nashville SC is still not done with putting together a roster for their inaugural MLS season in 2020. According to The Athletic’s Paul Tenorio, Nashville made two trades on Monday, acquiring midfielder Dax McCarty from Chicago Fire and Los Angeles Galaxy’s defender Dave Romney.

In order to acquire McCarty, who was Fire’s captain in 2019, Nashville sent $50,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) and $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) to Chicago. Fire also received a second-round draft pick as part of the deal.

Galaxy received $225,000 in allocation money for Romney, but the exact combination of TAM and GAM remains unknown.

The trades will be officially announced once the MLS trade window opens on November 11th. 

Dax McCarty is an MLS veteran who played for several teams besides Fire, including FC Dallas and New York Red Bulls. During his time in the league, McCarty had two All-Star appearances while earning MLS Best XI honors in 2015. He played 32 games with Fire in 2019, contributing with one goal and four assists.

Dave Romney, on the other hand, has spent the majority of his career with Los Angeles Galaxy. Since 2015, he made 86 appearances for the club, scoring three times and providing six assists. He played 12 games last season, making 10 starts.
