After spending two months with the Seattle Seahawks, veteran nose tackle Damon Harrison wants to move on and has asked the franchise to release him.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Harrison demanded release after discovering that he’ll be inactive for Sunday’s game against the LA Rams. The Seahawks intend to grant the player his wish but reportedly hope he might change his mind.

Harrison signed with Seattle in October, initially joining the team’s practice squad. He played in all of the Seahawks’ six games before Sunday, totaling 138 snaps. The 32-year-old veteran managed one forced fumble and nine tackles.

Harrison addressed his demand on social media, replying to a Twitter user who asked him not to leave Seattle.

“I came here to help, and I’ve done that, and now it’s time to move on,” Harrison wrote.

He then followed that up with another tweet in which he explained that he understands the Seahawks’ position and their decision to give playing time to some younger players instead of him.

Before arriving in Seattle, Harrison spent time with the New York Jets, NY Giants, and Detroit Lions. Entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn, Harrison played 123 NFL games and totaled 494 tackles and 11 sacks. He has a First-Team All-Pro nod from 2016.
