Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could follow the footsteps of other soccer greats like David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Thierry Henry by coming down to the United States to finish his career in the MLS. At least that’s what Ronaldo’s compatriot and current Orlando City captain Nani claims.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Nani said that Ronaldo once told him he is interested in MLS and could see himself playing there towards the end of his career.

“A couple of years ago, he told me that he will probably end up in America,” said Nani. “It’s not 100% but probably. There is a chance.”

Cristiano Ronaldo currently has two years left on his deal with Seria A giants Juventus. Still, there have been rumors of his departure next season as the 35-year-old struggled to acclimate to Italian football. However, it would be unrealistic to expect Ronaldo to come to the United States right away, as he is still viewed as one of the best players in the world despite his age.

If Ronaldo leaves Italy, his next destination could be Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. According to recent reports from France, PSG’s wealthy owners would like to pair Ronaldo with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe and consider making a $100 million bid for the four-times Ballon D’Or winner.
