The Los Angeles Clippers orchestrated their biggest comeback of the 2023-24 NBA season on Sunday, overcoming a 26-point deficit against the Cleveland Cavaliers to get a 120-118 win. And they have their All-Star Paul George to thank for that.

George delivered one of his best performances of the season against the Cavs, scoring 39 points, 23 of which came in the fourth quarter. He also added 11 rebounds and seven assists while playing every minute of the second half.

According to George, he was the one who asked Clippers’ head coach Ty Lue to keep him in the game for the entire second half.

“I wanted to stay in, and I just felt we were making a good push,” George said. “And he trusted me to just continue it on. But I’ve been saying, I just played until the clock hit zero. Charania reports that Tucker had constructive conversations with Clippers’ head coach Ty Lue in recent days and that he could return to the rotation after the All-Star break. Lue values Tucker’s experience and believes he could help the team when playoffs arrive.

The path for Hyland to receive more playing time seems less certain. The 23-year-old played 19 games this season, averaging 6.2 points per game.

The LA team didn’t disclose the financial terms of the agreement, but multiple reports indicate it is a three-year, $153 million deal. Leonard was in the final year of his old contract and had a player option for the 2024-25 season.
