The reports say that the Cavs are willing to give up guard Iman Shumpert and forward Channing Frye in order to get Hill from the Kings. George Hill turned down an extension offer from the Utah Jazz in the offseason in order to sign with the Kings but has been unhappy with his role and the team’s overall performance. He has been averaging 10.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in this season for the Kings. The Cavs view Hill as a good addition to their roster due to his defensive abilities and hope he could help their struggling defense. The Cavaliers are currently ranked 29th in the NBA in defensive rating.

In order to make the trade work, Sacramento Kings would have to open two roster spots. The sources are saying that forwards Malachi Richardson and Skal Labissiere are among the players that could end up being traded away.
