After yet another demoralizing loss, the Arkansas Razorbacks have decided to fire head football coach Chad Morris.

Arkansas, who hired Morris just last summer, simply could not wait any longer for the program to fall further. In just under two seasons as the Razorbacks’ head coach, Morris managed a dismal 4-18 record with the team.

What’s even worse is that Morris went 0 for 14 in Southeastern Conference play, failing to win a single conference game during his tenure with the Hogs.

The loss that sealed the deal was the embarrassing 45-21 at the hands of Sun Belt team Western Kentucky on Saturday. The former SMU coach’s team was humiliated by the unranked Roadrunners at their home stadium, something most fans just couldn’t bear to see.

It wasn’t the only embarrassing non-conference loss suffered by Arkansas this season, which also lost at home to lowly San Jose State.

The Razorbacks, who signed Morris to a six-year, $21 million contract in December of 2017, will now be forced to pay their former coach around $10 million as part of his buyout.

Tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Barry Lunley Jr. will finish out the season as the team’s head coach, according to the university’s athletic department.
