New Orleans Saints are looking to increase the depth of their wide receivers core and are reportedly set to work out several WRs. The list includes former Dallas Cowboys’ star Dez Bryant, Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall, and Kamar Aiken, who last played with the Philadelphia Eagles.

It is currently unclear whether the Saints are looking to add one of these players to their active roster or they just want to get familiar with the market in case they have a need at the position at some later point in the season.

Some would argue that New Orleans should make a move for a WR immediately, given the fact that they are currently thin at the position. Veteran Ted Ginn Jr., who had 787 receiving yard and four touchdowns in 2017, is currently on injured reserve list due to a knee injury while Cameron Meredith, who signed in April, is struggling to find his true form.

This means that only Pro Bowler Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith are the only two productive wide receivers in the roster, which is a concerning fact for the team that has Super Bowl aspirations.

Dez Bryant is currently the best available free-agent on the market, but it remains to be seen whether New Orleans Saints are willing to give him the money he is looking for. The salary was one of the main reasons why Bryant passed on several opportunities to play football this season.

Brandon Marshall was recently released by the Seattle Seahawks after his production dropped in the past few weeks, but he still might be a solid third or fourth option for a contender.

Seattle Seahawks announced that they had parted ways with wide receiver Brandon Marshall. The Seahawks signed Marshall in September, and the 34-year-old managed 11 catches for 136 yards and one touchdown throughout the first eight games of the season.

Brandon Marshall joined Seattle in order to provide depth on the wide receiver position after the team lost Paul Richardson while Doug Baldwin was dealing with injuries. Marshall, however, was inconsistent when given a chance, and ultimately fell out of the rotation due to the emergence of David Moore. Since Baldwin is once again healthy and Tyler Lockett is also playing on a high level, Seahawks felt that they don’t need Marshall anymore.

According to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter, Marshall isn’t considering retirement and will try to find another team in the following weeks.

Brandon Marshall had an illustrious NFL career, playing for five other teams, including Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears, before coming to Seattle. During his time in the league, he had six Pro Bowl selections and earned First-team All-Pro honors in 2012. He was also NFL receiving touchdowns co-leader in 2015.

Marshall played a total of 178 NFL games in his career and has managed to catch 970 passes for 12,351 yards and 83 touchdowns during that time.

Seattle Seahawks were on the market for a wide receiver for some time now, and it was speculated that they could go all in for former Dallas Cowboys’ WR Dez Bryant. Still, the team decided to go with more experienced Brandon Marshall, who will be better locker room fit than Bryant. In order to free up the roster spot for Marshall, Seahawks released fullback Marcus Martin, who was signed as undrafted rookie free agent earlier this month.

During his 12 years in the league, Brandon Marshall played for Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, and New York Giants. He joined the Giants in the summer of 2017 but suffered an injury in Week 5, and was forced to undergo a season-ending surgery. Giants released him on April 19, 2018.

Marshall is currently the only player in the history of the NFL to have more than 100 receptions in six seasons. During his career, he had six Pro-Bowl selections and received First-team All-Pro honors in 2012.

New York Giants announced that they have released wide receiver Brandon Marshall. The news was confirmed by the team’s general manager Dave Gettleman, who said that the decision was made after the 34-year-old failed his physical.

Brandon Marshall joined the New York Giants in 2017 offseason, signing a two-year, $12 million contract with the team. He was featured in five games in the regular season, managing 18 receptions for 154 yards, before suffering an ankle injury. He was ruled out for the season after a surgery. Releasing Marshall will see Giants saving $5.1 million in the salary cap.

Reporters asked Dave Gettleman will the release of Marshall mean that the Giants will pursue former Dallas Cowboys star WR Dez Bryant, who expressed a desire to come to New York and play alongside Odell Beckham Jr.

We are interested in everybody.” – responded Gettleman.

New York Giants also released tackle Jessamen Dunker, who spent his rookie 2017 season on injured reserve after suffering a foot injury during the training camp.

Brandon Marshall, who got drafted in the NFL by Denver Broncos in 2006, also played for Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, and the New York Jets. During the 12 years he spent in the league, Marshall had six Pro-Bowl appearances and received First-team All-Pro honors in 2012.He was also NFL receiving touchdowns co-leader in 2015 and named Second-team All-Pro in the same year. After the 2015 season, Marshall became the only player in the history of the league to have six seasons in which he had more than 100 receptions. Still, he doesn’t mean to stop there and recently said that he has at least two good years left to play.

I’m all-in on football,” – said Marshall towards the end of 2017 season. “I’ve rebuilt my body. I think I’m two great years away from, and I’ll say it, I want to be a Hall of Famer and I think I got two great years to go to be mentioned with some of the greats.”
