The Boston Celtics’ magical ten-game win streak was finally snapped on Sunday with a loss in Sacramento to the struggling Kings by a 100-99 final score.

Boston, who currently owns the league’s second-best record at 10-2, nearly secured a buzzer-beating win after a Marcus Smart runner as time expired, but the ball bounced off of the rim and fell to the ground.

The Kings, who trailed by four heading into the final quarter of action, outscored the Celtics 29-24 in the game’s last twelve minutes to secure a win that the team won’t soon forget.

Buddy Hield was undoubtedly the player of the game, scoring a season-high total of 35 points to lead the Kings to an underdog win. The fourth-year guard shot 58% from the field and also recorded 6 rebounds and 4 steals in an excellent game.

The loss for the Celtics is their first since the opening game of the season against the Philadelphia 76ers. Not even having six players finish with double-digit points on the night was enough to stop Hield and Company.

Boston will have a chance to get back on track when they face the Phoenix Suns on the road on Tuesday night.
