Arizona Cardinals hold the No.1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and many people want them to pick Oklahoma’s quarterback Kyler Murray with that selection. But even if that is true, Cardinals don’t want to reveal their cards too soon.

Cardinals’ general manager Steve Keim recently spoke with reporters and said that the organization is still undecided on their selection when draft officially kicks off on Thursday, April 25.

“The fact that I don’t know what we’re doing, but everyone else does, that’s concerning,” – said Keim on Tuesday. “We are not done with this process. We have not made a decision on the No. 1 overall pick.”

Ever since Arizona Cardinals hired Kliff Kingsbury as their new head coach, the majority of NFL analysts had them selecting Murray with the first overall pick. The 21-year-old is seen as a perfect fit for Kingsbury’s offense, who praised the Heisman Trophy winner on several occasions during his time at Texas Tech. Arizona also started taking phone calls about a potential trade for QB Josh Rosen, whom they selected 10th overall in 2018 after moving up in the draft.

On the other hand, both Keim and Kingsbury have been full of praises for Rosen in recent weeks and didn’t give any indication that they are willing to move on from him.

“He’s been phenomenal,” – said Kingsbury. “He couldn’t have been better honestly. First one to show up. Engaging. Into it. Very sharp, as everybody knows. Can’t say enough good things about my interactions with him so far.”

“We’ve had good communication. He is a pro’s pro.” – added Keim. “And the one thing I’ve appreciated the most since we’ve drafted him. The kid has an unbelievable amount of mental toughness. You saw that last year as he took a beating and we went through the injuries that we went through up front. Physical toughness, mental toughness — Josh Rosen has it all.”

It seems like Cardinals aren’t willing to reveal their plans until the draft, so anything is possible. We will just have to wait and see.

Arizona Cardinals are still making moves on the free agency market. This time they added safety Tre Boston, who spent the previous season with the Los Angeles Chargers. Boston will sign a one-year deal, reportedly worth $1.5 million. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the value of the contract could go up to $3 million if all incentives are met.

Tre Boston was visiting several teams interested in his services last month, including the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals.

According to the 26-year-old, the Colts didn’t give him the warmest welcome.

I didn’t meet with the GM, HC or DC. I was in the lunch room for 2 hours. I even got to play basketball” – Boston told SiriusXM NFL Radio.

His visit to Cardinals was much better, but the problem was their offer.

They rolled out the red carpet for me but the offer was very very disrespectful” – he added.

One month later, it looks like Tre Boston and Cardinals managed to get on the same terms.
Boston was selected in the fourth round of 2014 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. After three years of ups and downs in Carolina, he signed with the Chargers in 2017. In the last season, Boston played 15 games and recorded career highs in several statistical categories including 79 tackles, eight passes defensed, and five interceptions.

Arizona Cardinals are set to acquire cornerback Jamar Taylor from Cleveland Browns. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Cardinals will send their 2020 sixth-round pick to Browns in exchange.

Jamar Taylor started 15 games for the Browns in the 2017 season in which he had 48 tackles, 10 pass deflections, and one forced fumble.

Arizona Cardinals were looking for a cornerback to pair with their All-Pro star Patrick Peterson for some time now while the Browns were motivated to move Taylor ever since they drafted Ohio State’s cornerback Denzel Ward with the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Cardinals previously drafted CB Chris Campbell in the sixth round of the draft to address their cornerback issues while also pursuing free-agent Baushad Breeland, who is most likely to sign with the Colts.

Jamar Taylor was drafted into the league in 2013 NFL draft when Miami Dolphins selected him with the 54th overall pick. He didn’t manage to live up to his potential during the three seasons with the team, so Dolphins traded him to the Browns in 2016.

During the five years he spent in the NFL, Taylor played in 64 games and managed 201 total tackles, 27 pass deflections, and 3 interceptions alongside one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Fullback Derrick Coleman, who spent the 2017 season with the Atlanta Falcons, is set to join Arizona Cardinals on a one-year deal according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Falcons are expected to make the 27-year-old their starting fullback.

Derrick Coleman entered the NFL in 2012 when Minnesota Vikings signed him as an undrafted free agent making him the first legally deaf offensive player in the history of the league. Coleman lost his hearing when he was three years old.

After being waived by the Vikings in August 2012, Derrick Coleman signed with the Seattle Seahawks four months later and was part of the team that won the Super Bowl XLVIII. In 2015, he was charged with a hit-and-run which got him a four games suspension for 2016. He ended up missing the entire 2016 season and was released by the Seahawks in 2017 offseason. Coleman then signed with the Falcons and played in all 16 games (seven as a starter) of the 2017 regular season.

In order to overcome his hearing problem, Coleman wears hearing aids and reads lips while using other methods to be a valuable contributor on the football field.

So as soon as we break the huddle, and let’s say we have a protection going on, I’m looking, I’m looking, I’m looking, so by the time I’m in my stance, I already know where everybody is.” – Coleman explained in a 2017 interview with ESPN’s Vaughn McClure. “I already know what I’ve got to do. And I’m looking at the ball. When the ball is snapped, I’m able to go. And I adjust.

I’ve jumped a couple of times, all because I’ve been excited or because my mind has been going crazy. It’s never because of my hearing loss. When that ball moves, that’s when I move, plain and simple. If the ball doesn’t move, I don’t move.” – he added.
