Arizona Cardinals hold the No.1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and many people want them to pick Oklahoma’s quarterback Kyler Murray with that selection. But even if that is true, Cardinals don’t want to reveal their cards too soon.

Cardinals’ general manager Steve Keim recently spoke with reporters and said that the organization is still undecided on their selection when draft officially kicks off on Thursday, April 25.

“The fact that I don’t know what we’re doing, but everyone else does, that’s concerning,” – said Keim on Tuesday. “We are not done with this process. We have not made a decision on the No. 1 overall pick.”

Ever since Arizona Cardinals hired Kliff Kingsbury as their new head coach, the majority of NFL analysts had them selecting Murray with the first overall pick. The 21-year-old is seen as a perfect fit for Kingsbury’s offense, who praised the Heisman Trophy winner on several occasions during his time at Texas Tech. Arizona also started taking phone calls about a potential trade for QB Josh Rosen, whom they selected 10th overall in 2018 after moving up in the draft.

On the other hand, both Keim and Kingsbury have been full of praises for Rosen in recent weeks and didn’t give any indication that they are willing to move on from him.

“He’s been phenomenal,” – said Kingsbury. “He couldn’t have been better honestly. First one to show up. Engaging. Into it. Very sharp, as everybody knows. Can’t say enough good things about my interactions with him so far.”

“We’ve had good communication. He is a pro’s pro.” – added Keim. “And the one thing I’ve appreciated the most since we’ve drafted him. The kid has an unbelievable amount of mental toughness. You saw that last year as he took a beating and we went through the injuries that we went through up front. Physical toughness, mental toughness — Josh Rosen has it all.”

It seems like Cardinals aren’t willing to reveal their plans until the draft, so anything is possible. We will just have to wait and see.

Arizona Cardinals are not wasting any time in retooling their roster to fit the vision of their new head coach Kliff Kingsbury. The team announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed defensive end Rodney Gunter to one-year-deal while securing the signatures of four more players: tight end Darrell Daniels and offensive linemen Jeremy Vujnovich, Andrew Lauderdale and Jeremiah Poutasi.

Gunter, who was an unrestricted free agent this offseason, sparked the interest of several other NFL teams and visited Green Bay Packers last week. After considering all of his options, the 27-year-old ended up deciding to return to Arizona where he spent his entire NFL career.

Cardinals drafted Rodney Gunter in the fourth round of 2015 NFL draft and used him in the backup role in his first three seasons. Gunter managed to get a more prominent role in 2018 season in which he started 10 games and had 44 tackles and 4.5 sacks alongside nine QB hits.

Darrell Daniels and Jeremy Vujnovich both joined the Arizona Cardinals during the last season, and although they didn’t play much, the duo obviously showed enough to get another chance.

Andrew Lauderdale and Jeremiah Poutasi, on the other side, join from Alliance of American Football after the league recently suspended its operations. Lauderdale previously played in NFL with San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills among other teams while Poutasi spent time with Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars.
