After missing the 2017 season due to a shoulder injury, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is slowly finding his footing. Although he didn’t look great in the 19-20 defeat against Baltimore Ravens on Monday, Luck showed that he can handle the intensity of an NFL game and most importantly, get hit and bounce back.

The 28-year-old even said that he was “sort of happy” to get sacked by Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs.

I told someone after the game, ‘I’m sort of happy to get sacked by Suggs, a legit sack,'” – said Luck after the game. “I landed on my right elbow sort of reminiscent of how I injured my shoulder a couple of years ago [in Week 3 of the 2015 season]. I didn’t feel anything. Didn’t give it a second thought. That’s a big deal for me, being able to lose that thought bubble.”

“I’m very, very encouraged,” – he added. “How I feel. I feel great.

After not playing a single game in almost 600 days, Andrew Luck made the return in the Colts’ first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks completing 6 of 9 passes for 64 yards. Against the Ravens, he was 6 of 13 passing for 50 yards while adding an interception and getting sacked two times. His coach Frank Reich, however, isn’t too worried about Luck’s slow start.

We turned the ball over, [and] my experience tells me that protection at times was not great,” – said Reich. “We just didn’t find a rhythm for him. I felt maybe there were one or two throws that weren’t his best throws, but overall, it’s usually not as bad as you think or as good as you think. Still, have confidence in a direction we’re headed offensively.

After missing the 2017 season with a shoulder injury, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is still to throw a regulation football. The 28-year-old recently talked with reporters and revealed that there is a timetable for when that might happen, but didn’t want to go further into details. Still, Luck said that he is “confident” and “optimistic” about his return from the injury.

There is a timetable, but I’m not going to share it with you guys,” – said Luck on Monday. “I’ve very, very confident and very, very optimistic I’m going to be absolutely fine and come back better than I was. I’ll be a better quarterback, a better teammate, a better person.

After being drafted first overall by the Colts in 2012 NFL Draft, Andrew Luck was named the team’s starting QB. He led the Colts to playoff appearances in his first three seasons with the team and didn’t miss a single game. Luck injured his shoulder at the beginning of 2015 season, and went on to miss 26 games in the next three seasons, while the Colts failed to reach the playoffs on three consecutive occasions.

I guess there is a certain amount of guilt that I’ve lived with for not being able to play this past year,” – said Luck. “Not being out there for the team, and it sounds a little corny and a little cheesy. It was very difficult. I’ve put a lot of my self-worth in being available for this team and being the best I could for this team. That maybe is not the healthiest thing in the world to do. When I wasn’t available and I couldn’t help the team, and when I maybe felt like I was being a bit of a distraction, that was hard for me to handle. [It] provided also some good learning opportunities. I believe I’ll come back a better player and … a better teammate, a better person.

After undergoing a right shoulder surgery after 2016 NFL season, Andrew Luck still hasn’t returned to the field. The Indianapolis Colts already ruled him for the remainder of 2017 season, although there were some talks that he could return in 2017. In November, Luck went to Europe in order to get additional treatment for his shoulder, and it looks like it worked. He spent six weeks working in the Netherlands with a trainer, and now thinks he will not require another surgery.

My gut and my feeling tells me that I do not need another surgery,” – said Luck. “I think I need to work more and to stay on this straight and narrow, if you will. I don’t want to sound like throwing is the test. I’m doing well, and I will continue to do well. That’s how I feel today.

Luck returned to practices in September, but continuing pain in the right shoulder forced him to seek additional treatment. Although the 28-year-old quarterback says he is feeling good, the real test will come in January, when he starts throwing the ball; something he didn’t do since October. In case that he undergoes another surgery, Luck will be sidelined at least six more months.

For now, however, he plans to be ready for the next season.

I believe in the process I’m in right now.” – added Luck. “I’ve got great help and hope to continue to get better. I plan on being ready for everything — everything official, NFL offseason, schedule. … I plan on being ready.

Andrew Luck injured his throwing shoulder in Week 3 of the 2015 season and went on to play for four more games, before missing the rest of the season with an unrelated illness. He then reinjured the shoulder in Week 2 of the 2016 season but played out the rest of the season.

The Indianapolis Colts have placed their quarterback Andrew Luck on injured reserve list, which means he won’t play this season. This was announced by the team’s GM Chris Ballard on Thursday. Luck had a shoulder injury during the off-season, but there were speculations that he could be back at some point during the season.

The one thing I want y’all to understand is that there’s never been once a time where I’ve tried to mislead, [when] this organization has tried to mislead,” – Ballard said. “This whole thing has been very fluid.

Luck returned to the practice for the first time on October 4. He then showed up at two more practices before having to receive cortisone shots for soreness in his shoulder. Despite the fact he won’t return to the field this year, Luck remains optimistic about the future.

I wish I was better and 100 percent this season, but that’s not the case,” – Luck said. “I know I’ll be better from this. I know I’ll be a better quarterback, teammate, person, and player from this, and I’m excited for the future.

Andrew Luck played college football at Stanford and was considered a potential overall draft pick even after his sophomore year. Despite that, he decided to spend one more year at college and entered the 2012 NFL draft. Indianapolis Colts took him with the first overall pick in the draft.

As the Colts’ starting QB, Luck lead the team to three playoff appearances and two AFC South division titles. He earned Pro Bowl honors three times and lead the league in touchdown passes in 2014. His NFL career stats include 19,078 passing yards, 1,442 rushing yards, 141 touchdown passes and 14 rushing touchdowns.
