The Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts got together on Thursday night for one of the most significant mid-week games in recent memory, with Houston walking away with an important victory that puts them in the driver’s seat of the AFC South title race.

Trailing by four points heading into the final quarter of the matchup at NRG Stadium, Houston scored a touchdown early in the quarter to take a 20-17 lead that they would not relinquish.

It was a back-and-forth affair between the 7-4 Texans and the 6-5 Colts, but Houston wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins’ connection with Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson ended up being the difference-maker.

Hopkins caught two touchdown passes for Houston, totaling six catches for 94 yards. His fourth-quarter touchdown reception was the catch that turned the tables in his team’s favor.

Will Fuller, Hopkins’ counterpart at the wide receiver position, also had a big night, linking up with Watson for seven receptions totaling 140 yards.

Running back Jonathan Williams, who got a start in place of the injured Marlon Mack, had a big night, running for 104 yards and a touchdown. It was, however, not enough to avoid a loss for his team.

Houston will host the powerhouse New England Patriots next weekend, while Indianapolis faces another key divisional tilt with the Tennessee Titans.
