The New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers confirmed on Thursday that the surgery he underwent to repair a torn Achilles tendon in his left leg went smoothly. “Surgery went great yesterday,” Rodgers announced on a social media post. “Thank you for all the love and prayers and support. And thanks to the [goat emoji] Dr. ElAttrache and his staff for starting me on the road to recovery.”

During the Jets opening game of the new season – a 22-16 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills – Rodgers suffered the season-ending injury, bringing a premature end to his debut for the Jets.

Following his surgery, Rodgers is expected to undergo several months of intensive rehab. According to both Jets coach Robert Saleh and owner Woody Johnson, the 39-year-old player is expected to return to action sometime in 2024.

While things didn’t work out very well for the Green Bay Packers in 2018, the team can now hope to get it better in 2019 since they will have quarterback Aaron Rodgers in full health. Rodgers recently spoke with NLF Network and revealed that he managed to avoid surgery and will be ready for this year’s training camp.

Rodgers suffered a knee injury in the season opener against Chicago Bears, and the 35-year-old was forced to wear a brace for the better part of the season. He also hinted that surgery might be required in the offseason to help him overcome the issue, which would make him questionable for 2019 season opener. Luckily for Green Bay, however, that won’t be the case.

“I feel great,” – said Rodgers. “My body feels really good. Instead of getting surgery postseason, decided to kind of go through a different routine with my knee than I’ve done in the past, and I’m feeling really, really good. Got a concussion the last game, that’s cleared up. I’m feeling really good. I’m getting back into my workout routine, but the first month of the offseason is a lot about yoga and traveling.”

The worrying thing about Aaron Rodgers’ injury was that it happened on the knee he repaired several times. He had an ACL reconstruction on it during college, and then had another surgery in 2015, which was described as “cleanup.”

Despite struggling with the injury, Rodgers played on a high level throughout the better part of the season. He completed 62.3 percent of his passes for 4,442 yards and 25 touchdowns while only throwing two interceptions.

The Green Bay Packers had a 7-6 record entering the game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and they needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. After being on injured reserve for eight weeks, their star QB Aaron Rodgers was back in the starting line-up, ready to lead the Packers to victory. Except, he didn’t. Now that Packers’ don’t have a chance to make a postseason, they have returned Rodgers on injured reserve once again. Brett Hundley will take over the starting quarterback position, while the team also signed Joe Callahan to the 53-man roster.

It’s what we felt was best for Aaron,” – said Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy. “He was sore, took a number of hits. We felt this was the best decision.” McCarthy also added that Rodgers was not happy with the decision to get back on IR.

In the 24-31 game against the Panthers, Rodgers didn’t have his best showing. Although he threw three touchdowns, he also had three interceptions and was sacked three times while being hit 12 times. Rodgers’ completion rate was 57.8 for 290 yards. The Packers still had slim hopes after the defeat to reach the playoffs, but they ended when the Atlanta Falcons defeated Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.

For Joe Callahan, who will serve as a backup for Brett Hundley, this will be the third time he has become a part of the Green Bay Packers active roster. After going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, Callahan signed with the Packers. He had 499 yards and three touchdowns in the preseason, which led the team to assign him to their active roster. The Packers released him in October 2016 and he spent a short time with the New Orleans Saints and the Cleveland Browns, before rejoining the Packers’ practice squad and becoming a part of the active roster in December 2016.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers underwent a surgery on Thursday following a broken collarbone injury suffered in Sunday’s game against Minnesota Vikings. Packers told the reporters earlier this week that Rodgers is scheduled for the surgery, but they didn’t give a specific date. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport was the first one to report about the surgery, and the news was later confirmed by the Packers’ QB himself, as he posted a post-surgery picture on his Instagram account.

Rodgers said that the surgery went well, before thanking his followers for the support they gave him.

Now it is up to the Packers to decide whether they will keep Rodgers on the roster, hoping he will come back sooner than expected, or to put him on injury reserve. If they decide for the latter one, Rodgers could get back after eight weeks. According to the Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy, the team is only focused on Rodgers’ health at the moment.

As far as Aaron’s situation, our focus clearly is just to get through the surgery and just see where he is,” – Mike McCarthy said on Wednesday. “I’m not personally looking in that direction. My focus is on Aaron’s health right now.

Rodgers suffered an injury in the first quarter of the game against the Vikings, following a hit from the linebacker Anthony Barr. The first projections were that Rodgers will likely miss the rest of the season. With their star quarterback out, the Packers are left with Brett Hundley and Joe Callahan who will fill Rodgers’ spot.

Brett Hundley stepped in for Rodgers in the game against the Vikings and had 18 passes completed and 33 attempted for 157 yards. He will likely start the upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints.
