Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola signed a contract extension with the club and will remain at the Etihad Stadium till 2021.

This will be a huge boost to the Premier League Champions. Guardiola is regarded as one of the best managers in world football and achieved massive success during his previous managerial stints with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Guardiola had a stunning season with City this term. He led the club to the Premier League title with a record 100 points as well as the Carabao Cup.

“I am so happy and excited. It’s a pleasure to be able to work here,” Guardiola told the official City website. “I enjoy working with our players every day and we will try to do our best together in the coming years. As a manager, you have to feel good to be with the players – and I feel good.

“I will focus on the desire of my players to become a better team and every day that’s what I will try to do – to improve on the pitch and improve our players. We have a young squad with an average age of 23 and we want to keep taking steps forward and maintain the levels we’ve achieved this season.”

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has told fans of his club that this season is just the start of better things to come.

The Egyptian international has been sensational this season. He has so far scored 43 goals in all competitions and has helped propel his side to the final of the Champions League where they will play against Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old has been presented with the Liverpool player of the season and has also won the Football Writers Association award.

“I’m very happy here, everything is fine,” he said. “Of course I have got ambitions for the future with Liverpool. As you can see we had a great season, now we are in the Champions League final and everyone is excited.

“It is just the start. This is my first year here and it is the same for some other players. It is just the beginning.”

If Liverpool wins the Champions League, Salah could be a contender for the Ballon d’Or award.
