Kevin Durant’s 30 points were not enough for his Phoenix Suns to avoid a 119-111 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. However, it was more than enough to propel Durant into the Top 10 of the NBA’s All-Time scoring list.

Durant entered the Nuggets game as the 11th on the all-time scoring list in points but just 16 points behind Hall of Famer Moses Malone on No. 10. The 35-year-old made up the difference in the second quarter, scoring 17 points to get his NBA total to 27,410 compared to Malone’s 27,409.

Durant finished the game with 30 points to improve to 27,423 career points in the NBA. He needs 867 points to move to the No.9 spot, currently held by Carmelo Anthony.

“It’s a long journey to be up there, mentioned with the greats,” Durant said after the game. “It takes a lot of work, a lot of preparation, a lot of people helping me get to this point.”

Kevin Durant has been considered one of the best scorers in the game, winning the NBA scoring title four times. He averaged more than 25 points per game in all but one season as a pro and averaged more than 30 points twice.

Despite being 35, Durant isn’t showing signs of slowing down, currently leading the league in scoring with 31.2 points per game.
