Amanda Staveley, a new minority owner of Newcastle United, is expected to meet with manager Steve Bruce for the first time on Monday. It is firmly believed that Bruce will be let go from his position at the club during this encounter.

While Staveley intended to meet with Bruce last Friday after following PCP’s Capital Partners’ takeover of the club, the meeting was placed on hold due to Bruce as well as the players being absent from the club during the international break.

Should Bruce indeed be let go from his position as manager, then the most likely short-term replacement would be coach Graeme Jones, who would oversee the team during their next Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend. This would be a temporary solution until such time as the new owners of the club are able to find a suitable replacement.

While no confirmation has been received as of yet, Bruce believes that there is a definite possibility that Staveley could call an end to his time with the club. “I want to continue [as manager] but I have to be realistic. I’m not stupid and aware of what could happen with new owners.” He nevertheless stated that he is delighted for the fans following the big money takeover.
