The San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Chet Holmgren were unanimously selected into the NBA All-Rookie First Team for the 2023-24 NBA season. Both players received first-team votes from all 99 members of the voting panel.
Wembanyama, who previously won the NBA Rookie of the Year honors unanimously as well, averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and league-leading 3.6 blocks in 71 games.
Holmgren, who was the second-overall selection in the 2022 NBA Draft but missed his first season as a pro due to an injury, played in all 82 games this season. He had 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.
The duo is joined by Brandon Miller (Charlotte Hornets), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (Miami Heat), and Brandin Podziemski (Golden State Warriors) in the All-Rookie First Team.
The NBA All-Rookie Second Team consists of Dallas Mavericks’ Dereck Lively II, Houston Rockets’ Amen Thompson, Utah Jazz’s Keyonte George, OKC’s Cason Wallace, and Memphis Grizzlies’ GG Jackson II.
The league will also announce All-Defensive teams and All-NBA teams this week. Wembanyama is expected to make one of the All-Defense teams, which would make him the first rookie to do so since Spurs’ legend Tim Duncan.
