San Antonio Spurs’ All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge may be happy with his current team but that doesn’t mean he wants to retire there. It appears that Aldridge would instead prefer to finish his NBA career where he started it; with Portland Trail Blazers.

Jason Quick of The Athletic recently did a story on LaMarcus Aldridge and his relationship with former Blazers’ teammate Damian Lillard. Among other things, Aldridge discussed his desire to play with Lillard once again and revealed that he told Portland’s point guard that they will play together in Blazers’ jersey once again.

“I keep telling him I’m going to come back and finish there. That’s something him and I have talked about — playing together again.” – said Aldridge.

Aldridge was close to making his wish come true in 2017 when he requested a trade from the Spurs and listed Portland as his preferred destinations. Although he later ironed the issues with San Antonio, it looks like the desire to finish his career elsewhere didn’t disappear.  The 33-year-old will have the opportunity to decide on his fate in 2021 when he is scheduled to become a free agent, so it remains to be seen whether he’ll have the same opinion in two years.

LaMarcus Aldridge started his career with Portland Trailer Blazers in 2006 and spent nine years with the franchise. He led the team to five playoff appearances while earning four All-Star appearances during that time.  In 2015 he decided to leave the Blazers and sign with the Spurs.

Aldridge played 71 games with San Antonio this season and is currently averaging 21.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
