Sporting CP and Portugal international winger Nani is reportedly really close to coming to MLS and joining Orlando City. The 32-year-old, who previously played for Manchester United, will sign as a Designated Player if the move goes through.  The news about the move was first reported by Portugal’s Record.

Nani returned to Sporting CP, where he started his professional career, in the summer of 2018 for a third stint. Although he has been really productive, scoring eight goals in 27 games this season, the club is looking to reduce their salary bill, and several high-paid players became expendable in the recent weeks.

The most prominent period of Nani’s career was between 2007 and 2015 when he played for Premier League giants Manchester United. During this period, he won numerous trophies including four national titles and one UEFA Champions League title. He played a total of 230 matches with Man Utd, scoring 40 goals in the process.

Besides United, Nani also played for several other notable European clubs including Fenerbahçe, Valencia, and Lazio.

With Portugal national football team, Nani participated in three World Cups and has managed to win the UEFA Euro 2016.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
