The preseason games against the Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t turn out great for Minnesota Vikings for several reasons. Not only did the Vikings lose 10-14 and played sloppily, but also six of their players suffered injuries; some of them even season-ending.

The list was so long I don’t remember the exact number, so I’ll just wait until we put them on IR,” – said Vikings’ coach Mike Zimmer after the game.

The ankle injury of their second-round pick from 2016, cornerback Mackensie Alexander, might be the most damaging for the Vikings 2018 season. Also, offensive lineman Cedrick Lang, who suffered a lower leg injury, will have to undergo surgery and will be out for the season.

Defensive end Ade Aruna and fullback Johnny Stanton looked like they had more severe injuries as well since they were carted off the field. Center Josh Andrews and rookie wide receiver Jeff Badet also left the game without returning, but their injuries don’t appear to be too severe.

Most of the injured players were fighting to secure a roster spot on the Minnesota Vikings.

Yeah I feel bad for those guys because they come in here and work their rear ends off,” – said Zimmer. “We had a huge number of injuries today, you never want your guys to get injured, and it was kind of freaky things; we get rolled up on, it was unfortunate things today opposed to, you know [Jeff] Badet got hit in the head.
