The soccer world was shocked on Thursday when El Chiringuito, a Spanish sports news show, reported that Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is considering accepting an offer that would lead to his departure from Los Blancos.
Ramos found himself frustrated during the 2018-19 season, a year in which Real Madrid won no major trophies. In addition, one of the reasons that he appears to be considering an exit is due to an ongoing feud with club president Florentino Pérez.
The Real Madrid defender and Pérez reportedly got into a locker room argument after the club was eliminated by Ajax in the Champions League Round of 16 this spring.
Ramos was brought to Real Madrid by Pérez himself in the summer of 2005. Since joining the Spanish giants, Ramos has established himself as one of the premier defenders in the game.
The Andalusia native has appeared in 419 career games with Real Madrid and has scored 59 goals.
It remains to be seen if his future could move him elsewhere.
