Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich is looking to lock winger Serge Gnabry with the club for the foreseeable future with a new contract. According to influential reporter Fabrizio Romano, the two sides have verbally agreed to a new deal and should soon make it official.

Gnabry’s current deal was set to expire in 2023, but the club wanted to reward the player for his good performances in recent years. This included a strong outing last season when he scored 10 goals and added five assists in 27 Bundesliga matches.

The two sides have been negotiating for a while now and managed to get to the same page in recent weeks. Gnabry reportedly received the salary increase his representatives asked for and is now confident he wants to remain with the club long-term.

The 26-year-old star played 11 games in all competitions in the new soccer season and has scored four goals so far. He also has three assists.

Signing Gnabry to a new deal was a priority for Bayern Munich after the club previously handed out improved contracts to other key players like Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich past month. The next in line is defender Niklas Sule, who is playing on an expiring contract and should receive an offer soon.
