Seattle Seahawks placed a franchise tag on their defensive end Frank Clark, but it seems like they didn’t do that to keep the player on their roster for the future. Instead, Seahawks are looking move Clark and get some assets in return.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Seahawks started taking trade calls for Clark and a number of teams already expressed their interest for the 25-year-old pass rusher including Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets.

Seattle Seahawks are reportedly looking to trade Frank Clark before the 2019 NFL Draft on April 25th. The Seahawks’ asking price is a first round pick but it remains unclear whether teams are motivated to pay this fee.

Clark is set to earn $17 million in 2019 and will be looking for a hefty long-term contract from any team that acquires him. He is coming off a breakthrough season in which he had 41 tackles to go with 13.0 sacks and one interception.

Earlier in the week, Seattle’s general manager John Schneider discussed Clark’s status on the team and stated that he is willing to listen to proposals.

“We are always trying to understand what the landscape is throughout the National Football League,” – said Schneider. “If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be doing our job. We can’t ever have our head in the sand with anything. But we love Frank, obviously. That’s why we franchised him.”
