Seattle Seahawks have finally found a man who will back up Russell Wilson in 2018. The Seahawks have acquired quarterback Brett Hundley from the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday. According to ESPN, Packers received a draft pick in 2019 in exchange.

Seahawks were not happy with their backup options in Austin Davis and Alex McGough, who was a seventh-round pick in this year’s draft, so the team decided to go on a market and find a better QB. It is safe to say that they did that with Hundley.

Although not a flashy quarterback, Brett Hundley has a lot of upside and experience as a starter. After Aaron Rodgers went down with a collarbone injury last season, Hundley took over the starting spot and went 3-6 in nine starts. The 25-year-old finished the 2017 season with 1,836 yards and nine touchdowns alongside 12 interceptions.

Green Bay Packers obviously thought that wasn’t good enough since they acquired 2017’s second-round pick DeShone Kizer from Cleveland Browns in March. Kizer is a more talented option than Hundley, but he comes off a terrible rookie year. In 2017 he was 0-15 as a starter and threw league-high 22 interceptions. The 22-year-old completed just 53.6 percent of his passes, ending the year with 2,894 passing yards and 11 touchdowns.

Besides DeShone Kizer, Packers are expected to keep rookie Tim Boyle, an undrafted free agent, as a third-string quarterback.
