Scott McTominay Inks a 5-Year Extension with Man Utd

Scottish international midfielder Scott McTominay turned his impressive performances in 2019/20 into a new contract with Manchester United. The Premier League side confirmed on Tuesday that McTominay signed a five-year extension with the club.

The new deal will keep McTominay at Old Trafford at least until 2025, while Man Utd also has an option to extend his stay for one more year after that.

“I’m so happy to sign this contract and play a part in the future ahead for this team,” said McTominay after inking a new deal. “All I have ever known is United, and I hope that my passion for the club shows every time I go onto the pitch. I’ll continue to give everything for this club whenever I pull on the shirt.”

McTominay has been enjoying a career year with Manchester this season, having made 28 appearances in all competitions. The 23-year-old scored five goals in the process while dishing one assist as well.

“Scott has done tremendously well since I joined and has been a vital part of our midfield,” added the club’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. “He brings determination, tenacity, and skill to the game, and we know that Scott’s attributes will be a major asset to the squad over the coming years. “

Scott McTominay has spent his entire soccer career with Manchester United, joining the club’s youth academy in 2020. He made his pro debut during the 2016/17 season under José Mourinho and went on to play 75 games with the club since then.

McTominay also has 12 appearances with Scotland’s international side after making his debut for the senior team in 2018.
