The New Orleans Saints will play the next three to four games without offensive tackle line player Terron Armstead after he was diagnosed with a chest muscle injury on Tuesday.

Armstead suffered the pectoral muscle injury in last week’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He was replaced by Jermon Bushrod but the Saints did not immediately offer a report about his health status.

While the 27-year-old is one of the league’s best players, he’s been in and out with injuries throughout his career. He’s never played a full 16-games in a league since 2014 and has missed 20 games while with the Saints.

His substitute, Bushrod, is a 12-year veteran who began his career with the Saints but left for Chicago and Miami in 2012 and 2015 respectively. He returned to New Orleans this season to be a backup for Armstead. But with the 27-year-old out, Bushrod may have to summon the performance that saw him make it to the 2011 and 2012 Pro Bowls and help the Saints beat the Eagles this Sunday.

There is doubt Bushrod can get back to his 2012 form, especially after his recent struggles with the Bears and Miami. After agreeing to a 5-year deal with Chicago in 2012, the 34-year-old was released in his third year for failing to impress. His career in Miami improved but they ultimately sent him back to New Orleans this offseason.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
