After new signing Dez Bryant got injured two days after signing with the Saints on Tuesday, New Orleans quickly moved in to find his replacement, settling for veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Saints head coach Sean Payton announced on Monday.

For Marshall, Saints will be his seventh club in his 13-year career. He has totaled 970 catches in 12,351 yards over the periods and logged 83 touchdowns. While playing with the Seahawks this season, the 34-year-old made 11 catches for 136 yards and one touchdown. He was released last month.

The Saints started their search for a veteran wide receiver last week. Marshall was one of the favorites but they ultimately signed Bryant. After his injury on Friday, New Orleans promoted Kith Kirkwood to work alongside Michael Thomas. On Sunday, Kirkwood logged two receptions for 45 yards as the Saints beat the Cincinnati Bengals 51-14.

Although he’s made it to Pro Bowl football six times, Marshall is yet to find a team that lets him settle. The Saints are his fourth team in two years and the third this year. The 34-year-old started the year at the New York Giants. He was released in April and joined the Hawks until Oct 30.

Considering he’s had a good career, Marshall has the chance to complete the season and maybe make it to the playoffs with the 8-1 Saints this season.
