Jared Cook joined the New Orleans Saints just in March, but the 32-year-old tight end is already earning praise from the Saints’ coaching staff and players including quarterback Drew Brees.

When recently asked about his new teammate, Brees said that the whole team was “impressed” by Cook and went on to praise his “feel for the game.”

“I’d read a lot of good things about him before he got here, but he’s certainly impressed us these first couple of days,” – said Brees of Cook according to New Orleans Advocate. “He’s got a great feel for the game, and I think he’s going to fit very well in our offense. He’s got great length, so he’s got a big catch radius. You feel confident with those 50-50 balls. You feel like there’s a lot of places where you can throw if where he can get it and the other guy can’t. Anytime you have a target like that, you feel like that’s a good matchup.”

Jared Cook entered the league in 2010 when he was selected in the third round of the draft by Tennessee Titans. He spent three years in Tennessee before embarking on stints with the Rams, Packers and Oakland Raiders.

After years of ups and downs, Cook finally broke through with the Raiders and delivered a Pro Bowl-worthy season in 2018 in which he had career highs in receptions (68), receiving yards (896) and touchdowns (6). He is now expected to be Saints’ starting tight end for 2019 and his game now might reach new heights with a proven QB in Brees.
