The Denver Nuggets’ veteran point guard Russell Westbrook added another major triple-double achievement to his resume. In a 132-121 victory over the Utah Jazz, Westbrook became only the third player in NBA history with a perfect triple-double.

Westbrook finished the Jazz game with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. He had zero turnovers and was perfect from the field (7-7) and free throw line (2-2). He joined his teammate Nikola Jokic and Sacramento Kings’ Domantas Sabonis on the list of players with perfect triple-doubles.

This was the 201st triple-double in Westbrook’s NBA career. He is the record holder for career triple doubles, with Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson (181) and Jokic (143) being second and third, respectively.

Additionally, Westbrook is only the second player to average a triple-double in a season alongside Robertson. He is also the only player to do it multiple times, having four such seasons.

“First-ballot Hall of Famer, one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game,” Nuggets’ head coach Michael Malone said of Westbrook. “And what I admire so much about him, aside from the leadership and toughness that he brings every single day, is he’s got no ego.”

Westbrook joined the Nuggets as a free agent in the summer. He took on a bench role and has been playing well, averaging 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
