According to reports around the NBA, All-Star Russell Westbrook no longer wants to play for the Houston Rockets.

Westbrook has only played one season with the Rockets, signing with the team last year to reunite with scoring sensation James Harden, who Westbrook used to play with in Oklahoma City.

Houston’s general manager Daryl Morey left the team recently and has joined the Philadelphia 76ers. This has left a shadow of doubt regarding the future of the franchise and the direction in which the team will be headed. Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni also decided to leave the team and has been replaced by Stephen Silas.

Reports claimed that Harden preferred two coaching options, Tyronn Lue, who recently became the Los Angeles Clippers’ head coach and John Lucas, who was one of the finalists for the job and will now serve as an assistant to Silas.

However, reports claim that Harden is committed to Houston, but this doesn’t seem to be enough of a positive for Westbrook who would prefer to be traded.

If Westbrook won’t play for them, this puts Houston in a very difficult position with the new NBA season expected to kick off in less than two months.
