Real Madrid’s right-back Dani Carvajal is tempted by the idea of playing in the United States once his run with the La Liga giants comes to an end.
Speaking with The Athletic, Carvajal explained that the move to MLS is appealing to him because he doesn’t want to play for any other club in Europe besides Real.
“It’s a possibility,” Carvajal explained when asked about the MLS move. “When I decide not to be at Real Madrid, I’m not going to play in Europe, and the alternatives are much reduced.”
However, Carvajal also admitted that he would likely consider Saudi Arabia and Qatar as his possible destinations.
“It would be one of those three options,” he added.
Carvajal has entered the final year of his contract with Los Blancos and could become a free agent next summer. It is unclear whether the two sides are engaged in conversations about an extension.
Dani Carvajal started his professional career with Real Madrid’s reserve team in 2010 and later spent one year on loan with Bundesliga’s Bayer Leverkusen. He returned to Spain in 2013 and has since played 421 games for the club in all competitions while helping Real win 26 trophies, including four La Liga titles and six UEFA Champions League trophies.
