In the last two seasons, Real Madrid’s winger Marco Asensio established himself as one of the soccer’s most promising young players. This recently prompted several European high-profile teams to attempt to lure the 23-year-old out of Spain but it looks like they shouldn’t be hoping for much success.

Asensio’s agent Horacio Gaggioli recently chatted with ESPN FC about the interest in his client and revealed that Real Madrid so far rejected significant bids for the player including the one worth $200 million.

“Over the last year there have been offers as high as €150m and €180m, but Madrid did not want to listen to them,” – said Gaggioli. “There is always interest in Marco from other big clubs, seeing if he wanted to leave, which is normal for the player he is.”

While all this interest is flattering for Asensio, he doesn’t think about leaving Madrid according to Gaggioli.

“But he always says that he is very happy with Madrid, is only interested in being a success there. He is still a young kid, improving all the time, and the club is very happy with him too,” – he added.

After a breakthrough season in 2017/18, Marco Asensio found himself often benched by Real Madrid’s former boss Santiago Solari. When Zinedine Zidane returned to the club, however, Asensio got more room to play and used it in the best way possible.

Asensio played a total of 27 games in Spanish La Liga this season and managed to score one goal alongside four assists. He also has two goals in the Champions League.
