Various rumors have long situated Spanish giants Real Madrid with interest in adding a striker, and a new name has emerged as a potential target for Zinedine Zidane’s squad heading into the 2020-21 season.

England and Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is now a top target in Real Madrid’s effort towards improving its attack this summer, according to Spanish newspaper SPORT.

Kane, who has scored 17 goals in 25 games across all competitions for the North London side this season, is one of the premier strikers in the sport. He has been unwaveringly loyal to the squad where he played as a youth since joining its senior team in 2009, only leaving on loan stints.

Recent frustration with his club’s inability to win titles on an international and domestic level, however, has reportedly frustrated the 26-year-old, and has led him to consider other options.

It certainly wouldn’t be cheap for Real Madrid to acquire the London native’s services, as he is currently the sixth-most valuable player in the sport according to Transfermarkt. However, he would undoubtedly provide a boost in front of the goal for a team that has at times been frustrated by its lack of striking punch this season.

If Kane decides that he wants a new challenge and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is willing to pay the high fee that will be required for his services, the English superstar could be on his way to a new league and country in the fall.
